I hope your wrong about Sinclair ,I’d hate to see him go he’s developing nicely and I think has a big future at the Eagles ,I’d be surprised if they traded him ,but funkier things have happened

Booed by the entire Eagles fan base was it Warren ,what utter crap I was there and I didn’t boo and I was right in front of Jetta when he did his so called war dance and no one in our immediate area booed at all,it was a small section up in the second tier and if I look back I’d suggest about less than 25% of the crowd may have booed ,so no where near the entire fan base ,Warren so once again you lose credibility on your research ,give it away

I’m not complaining Dean ,as I said they were thumped by a better side on the day west coast beat them 3 weeks earlier so GF day The Hawks bought their A game and the Eagles didn’t ,the Eagles had their chances scoring shots were very similar at half time and they showed a flicker of hope early third quarter but Hawks put paid to that by applying the pressure and Eagles faltered ,I still beleive they were overawed by the occasion but nothing can be taken away from the Hawks .beleive me the Eagles won’t sleep well for a while

He means respect over the season coming from where they were to play in the GF ,I wouldn’t have thought is was a gutless effort ,they were clearly overawed with the heat on the day and had their chances but choked and miskicked ,dropped marks ,its not the first or last time it will happen but not a gutless display and when someone like you I assume has played 100 AFL games and you have been there and done that ,then I guess you have the right to criticise

I can’t believe they don’t wait till after the GF and select the COACH OF THE YEAR after the game ,it’s rediculous that Clarkson that has never won it ,I would have thought the guy who coaches the winning side of the Grand Final would win it .

Fair dinkum Freo as your a tosser ,the reason they get kicks and not only at Subi is that their normally first to the ball and play the game fair no other reason ,and the reason Freo don’t get them is that youve got idiots like Dawson ,Ballantyne and Silvani running around doing stupid things , lose the the chip off your shoulder ,you could supply smiths crisps for a year

They certainly have the cattle to go again they proved that in the earlier final, Mackenzie to come back brown maybe ,Duggan is going to be very good Jetta on the wing (sorry I don’t rate Masten) lamb to come in Nelson will be good ,Hills had a good year but goes missing in tough games ,I would be chasing Yarran from Subi ,he could play a similar role to what Hill does but he actually chases and puts on pressure, Gov could go forward .
I think it’s a tough call on Kennedy the ball when it did come down forward was kick high under pressure as the midfield was under a lot of pressure , I think they were overawed by the heat of the game and the fumbles and mis kicking cost them dearly and certainly didn’t bring the aggression that they did in the earlier final 2 weeks prior ,At 3/4 time the scoring shots were close so they had the ball but didn’t convert ,Taking nothing away from the Hawks they were very good .
If The Eagles get a chance to play the MCG more than once to restructure the web to the wider ground may be a help as well.
All in all a great year by Simmo and the boys

Simply beaten by a better team on the day,they had their chances early and kicked badly and choked under the pressure
Not much else to say, I’m very proud of what Simmo and the troops have achieved this year ,they will learn from this

West coast will be up against it they’ve played at the MCG only once this year so you’d think with the local crowd and home ground advantage Hawks should be favourites , but West Coast have beaten Hawks and Freo exposed them a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t finish off ,so I think the Hawks are very beatable West Coast need a good start and need to attack the ball like they did against them a few weeks ago , hoping it’s a tight hard game with two attacking sides ,looking forward to it .Go Eagles

Amazes me really other coaches seem to try and tweek the game plan year by year or have a plan b but Lyon doesn’t seem to ,surely now he should realise he needs to change things a little being on top all season and going out like that is not a good sign ,especially when spuds like Dawson get a game

Wel well well ,how the mighty tumble ,Freo are gone they showed last night that their skill levels are very ordinary under pressure they got the ball enough but turned it over time and time again .Zac Dawson should be fed to the Sharks ,Ballantyne needs a smack around the ears he has no control,and continues to cost Freo free kicks ,Pav is finished ,,McFarlane retired and some players that didn’t put their hand up when it was needed ,Hawthorn were vulnerable under pressure also last night but Freo lacked the skill to do the job .
As far as the free kicks were concerned the umpire stuffed up early in the game and gave the Hawks some really soft kicks but as usual the umpires had a look at the free kick tallies at half time and evened it up in the second half hence the totals were only I kick apart at the final siren

What are you on Frank ,west oz crowds worse than Vickos your joking,I’ve been to many games over East and theirs been fights every time and three times people have been knocked out and one of them a collingwood supporter knocked out an Adelaide female supporter ,so don’t talk crap Frank,any chance the Vickos get to bag the west they do so,they’re very jealous of what we’ve achieved over hear .Melbourne media seem to cover up incidents over there

Finally the footy world. Get to see the real Freo supporters at their best ,we’ve known it for a long time but I gotta say the east coast critics seem to dwell on what happens over here and blow it out of proportion where as this sort of stuff that happens in Melborune isn’t highlighted as much, I’ve been to quite a few games over in Melbourne and seen people getting knocked out in the crowd and fights quite often but you don’t see it in the media

Neither he would be ,Jakovich was a way better defender than Luke Mach will ever be and there are also other selectors on the panel , Barry Hall is a thug and has little credibility so just learn to deal with it Don

I don’t think your too far off the mark here Cam , there are a lot of toilers as they say in the team,I believe
Players like ,Yeo,Schofield,Brown, in the back line will need to step up
I would like to see Gaff at half forward and Masten on the wing,I believe Gaff has the potential to kick more goals (having said that I think the Eagles should have traded Masten and chased some talent for the midfield )
The problem is with Darling I don’t believe he will play for a while yet,so I think it’s time they give Mcinnes a crack at CHF or Sinclair I believe either of those guys could hold that pozzy down.
Another option on the wing or half back Butler or Ellis,Mcginnity half forward and also Murray Newman could be slotted in as a small forward if need be
I also think Dom Sheed needs to show something this year,West Coast hold their recruits too long on the back burner when they should be playing them earlier when you have middle of the road players running around battling it out .
The forward line shows talent with players like Lecras and Kennedy ,Cripps is handy and Wellingham needs to show us all why the Eagles picked him up
The trump cards I think are maybe Lamb and Nelson so only time will tell there,but I don’t think the Eagles are going to worry good sides as they still lack A grade players
All that being said , if everything goes well they will finish similar to last year or if they get a few more injuries they will be low to mid ladder
I hope I’m wrong
