I didn’t say you did – I’m asking you a question, it’s called having a conversation. You did however say “His refusal to manage the ruck is exactly what the panthers want.” So I’ll ask you again, the Storm don’t try to slow the ruck?
You also said, “He is useless at managing the ruck…The nrl clearly want a panthers win and Sutton is clearly the ref for the job.” I gave you some stats on Sutton’s record when reffing both Storm and Panthers games, which goes against your argument that “His reffing style clearly benefits the panthers.”
I can read, but maybe you should learn how to craft a more convincing argument.

Sutton handed the whistle for fifth straight decider

So the Storm don’t try to slow the ruck? It didn’t affect the outcome of the game. Storm still had plenty of attacking opportunities and didn’t capitalise. The ruck speed did not determine the outcome of the game, Storm’s errors and completion did.

The ruck was unmanaged for both sides, Storm were slowing it down too and they invented the tactic. Since when was Gerard Sutton a Panthers fan? A quick look on Rugby League Project will show you that under Sutton, Storm have won 40 out of 57 games for a win rate of 70%, while Panthers 22 from 38 games for a win rate of 57%. Storm lost the prelim because Welch and Smith went down early throwing their bench rotation out. Some returning players haven’t had recent game time and were gassed, Penrith were fitter and able to handle the conditions better. Storm 69% completion and had so many errors that if you wanted a conspiracy you could talk about them throwing the game, or maybe Jennings and Reimis are just poor under pressure?

I do feel like we have seen the best from Teddy. He hasn’t been the same since his injury last year. His ball running technique means there’s a big chance he will go off for a HIA, especially if any of the games are played in the wet. Fine if we had Papenhuyzen at 14, but I guess now it means Turbo to fullback and Wighton to centre, which is pretty good now that I think about it.

NSW Blues Origin 1 team: Expert reaction, every selection analysed

To’o made 78 post contact metres that game….more than Kikau and Capewell combined. Super impressive effort, hope he stays under the radar.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 1

Great article Tim! Gus would be a perfect replacement for the recently tossed Coyne.
“Either they aren’t listening or they are incompetent.”…Or…Ambiguity in decisions helps media platforms manufacture click bait headlines and generate conversation through controversy. Everyone loves to be outraged. What else would we have to talk about? Putting a capital E in “sports Entertainment”. A close friend of mine has decided not to renew his club membership next year based on the inconsistencies we are all talking about. I’m sure he’s not the only one.

Fans should stop wasting their time asking the NRL to lift their game

For Origin pre-game or half time they could have a skills challenge like they do in the NBA, to involve other players who are not part of Origin.

Would love to see a sprint to showcase roadrunners in the league…They did a junior relay at a Panthers game at halftime and it was great to watch. Could mix it up by making them run with a ball, and at the other end they have to throw a pass to the next runner from outside 10m. Last relay runner needs to receive the ball from a kick, run and ground the ball for a try. 4 teams of 5, and they could represent a charity.

A challenge for the kickers – have 5 balls stationed on tees around the ground with a timer that starts after the first kick. Each goal is worth 2 points, with tie breaker based on shortest time.
