Easts are the joke of the league. Have to laugh when 360 go on about Easts and the art of the deal. Look at who they have bought the last few years Napa, Jennings, Lenui (to date- the worst signing in easts history) saved by Dom Young (souths reject) and Watson. Robinson hails his senior players in the media with fake nonsense, while not giving a stuff about the careers of Gus, Sitili, Whyte, Wong and a long list of other juniors. Uncle Nick is starting to look like that uncle we all have that walks around with his fly half undone, his white undies showing and food stuck to the side of his mouth.

The Fifita flip: What happens now for reeling Roosters and their unexpected $3.4 million bounty?

Sorry Gus, but Robbo is busy writing up his discourse (his words, not mine) about the abuse of Latrell by Saints fans. It is very important we listen to what he has to say because he has practiced looking out into the distance to give his words gravitas. Robbo may get around to talk to you about your future, but chill, it’s not as if you have given, blood, sweat and a finger for the club.

NRL News: Integrity Unit investigate alleged Walker and Mitchell racial abuse, Crichton left in lurch

East’s stats are pretty meaningless considering the real positive numbers came from games against Souths and the Dragons who aren’t going to be anywhere near the finals. Their stats against top 8 teams is not so flattering. While Fifita is a great buy, Robbo’s not the guy to get the best out of him. Robbo hasn’t improved any player in the last 5 years, apart from Collins. Took him forever to stop (trying) to turn Sam into Cronk (whose style was great in a bygone era, not 6 again). Can’t wait to see Fifita run out in the centres next year, so Robbo can show us all how clever he is.

Fifita signing coup an extra feather in the cap as Roosters reopen premiership window

It’s laughable when people say that East’s are the smart club when it comes to recruitment. East’s are a joke. The extension of Keary a few weeks back for $800k was worse than Schusters (at least Schuster had potential). Napa, Jennings (jury is out on Young and Lenui) Robbo cannot say no if one of his recently retired players asks for a coaching gig or a run…….This year is dead as Robbo continues to favour his buddies over what’s best for the team. JWH (great player that he was) is nowhere near May but will continue to get the bigger minutes. Sam is playing well despite Robbo not because of him. Easts will have to buy a 5/8th because Robbo has only developed one player in all his 10 + years – Collins (maybe Vic, although he was great in the lower grades and as per usual under Robba is trending backwards.) He is so itching to put Suallii back in centres – to prove a point and will likely play Lenuii over May- also to prove a point.

Roosters' 2025 troubles mount as premiership-winner Keary announces shock retirement

Robbo will have Sam playing Cronkball pretty soon again. Brandon mentioned in the post match interview that Sam doesn’t listen to Robbo. I don’t think he was joking. Watson to remain at lock, Victor to edge, Teddy to dial it back (again) and Sam to keep not listening to Knobbo and Easts may have a chance. I see Blake Ferguson has been sacked from bush footy for some offence. Fits the profile for a spot at the Roosters – offence, possibly criminal tick, very old ex rooster well past his prime tick, potential redemption tale for Knobbo to bore us all with – tick, tick, tick.

A walk in the park: Super Sam shows Roosters what they've been missing in 60-point Anzac smash-up

Could Teddy play centre? For sure. Would Robbo move him? Why not? Last year Robbo shuffled Manu to 5/8, Hutch to centre, Suailli to centre, Sam and Luke around, up and down, inside and out. Teddy to centre is less a stretch than those fumbles. Couple of problems, is that Manu can play 3 or 4 games at fullback then his body falls apart. Like Latrell he is too big for the position. Also Teddy’s not quite dead yet. There are a few good miles left in his legs. Pretty funny calling Robbo a supercoach. More than half the NRL must have supercoaches at the helm.

Robinson's custodian conundrum: Would Roosters be better off with Manu at fullback?

And there for all to see, the recruiting genius of coach Robbo. Snaps up Jennings and Napa, extends Keary and JWH (real quick to stop other teams chasing them), sits on his hands for a year but somehow managers to keep May and loses Manu at or near his peak. Those old guys in the forwards going hopeless so he dumps Wong. Poor old Luke out of form so he dumps Walker. Fortunately he finally moved Suailli back to the wing although it did take him a year to figure out what everyone else figured out 12 months ago. Mitch Pearce has got to be on his radar.

CONFIRMED: NRL superstar joins ex-All Blacks coaching greats in Japan - could he do an SBW?

IF JD is dumped I hope the Roosters pick him up. JD has a lot more coaching experience than Robbos gaggle of ex players waddling around after him, nodding their heads at all his daft calls.

'If that changes, time will tell': Demetriou defiant despite defeat as Souths lose three to injury in Sharks loss

Robbo’s greatest skill as a coach is remodeling the skill set of his players. Look at Sam Walker and Joe Suailli, both came into the game with great attacking flair, until Robbo got his hands on them.

Rooster must remodel: Angus Crichton says he'd want to 'dominate' in rugby union - this is what he'd have to change

“7 of Walkers kicks were from his own half”. At best that’s 70 metres less than say Burton for an entire game. Burton can’t find the in-goal from 5 metres out. I’ll take Sams short kicking game any day of the week. The Roosters benefit more from a good short kicking game than a good long kicking game, due to their big outside backs. You’re also citing a game where the Roosters were always on the back foot.

The missing ingredient Roosters need to kick into title contention - and the no-name player Robbo should take a punt on

Don’t really agree with your analysis for last year. Robbo panicked big time. Keary was so off his game causing Robbo to drop Sam. Robbo loves to be loved by his senior players and will never drop a senior player. Any 30 year old plus ex Robbo Roosters out there will be re-signed because he can’t say no. Any ex Robbo Roosters wanna be coaches, no problems, no coaching experience required. Shuffling Keary and Walker around, moving Manu to 5/8th, Suallii to centres, Hutch (slower than JWH) to centres, dropping Sam (probs more but I cannot recall) in the first few rounds is not astute coaching, it’s total panic. Coach Cronk came in with his Cronk robotics gameplan and the Roosters played like robots, go figure. This year is a different story altogether, so far anyway. I have never seen a Robbo Rooster kick on an early tackle from deep in their own half like Dom did. It didn’t come off but it was lovely to see. Dom didn’t drop his head and kept that style all through the game. Where is that play in Cronk Robotics 1.0.1? (Keary once again not playing well, which means Sam or Sandon will be back in reserves again. BTW you wouldn’t know that Suallii was in that team the way he plays in the centres. He was a gun on the wing.

How Dom Young and Justin Holbrook have turned the Roosters inside out - and helped Tedesco get back to his best

I do feel sorry for Latrell. His “Cause” is much more important than footy (for so many reasons) and can only have a negative impact his performance. As a Roosters supporter I boo him when he plays Easts, it’s part of the theatre, no hate or even dislike there. Latrell can see this too, judging by his interaction with the crowd, which is just TV villianery. He has much too much on his plate and will be worn down pretty soon. We saw the best of him at Easts.

Robbo can’t pass up a lecture. I wish he would just coach the team and leave the life lessons to his kids.

NRL News: Robbo regrets his words but insists Leniu 'not racist', Cowboy targets Blues spot, Joey's surprise best coach

How cowardly is Robbo? He spoke to Leinu in the sheds immediately after the game. Why didn’t he ask Leinu the obvious four word question “Did you say that?” Tequiri is dead right about Robinson gaslighting Mam.

You’d think the smaller “pitch” would suit the high ball, which Easts have well covered.

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions, Round 1: Can Storm continue hot streak, will Dragons fire, more upsets to come?

Robbo cannot adapt to the modern game with his last decade defensive strategies. His most recent forward buys Napa, Nathan Brown and even Lenui are all old style. Apart from maybe $400K I have no idea what the difference is between Brown and Lenui. Roosters starting slow is not a genius tactical ploy, it’s because Robbo has no idea what he is doing at the beginning of each season and it takes half a season for him to catch up with the other coaches. Like a back ended contract Easts fans a paying now for those old and getting older premierships wins.

Is Robbo all he's cracked up to be? The musings of a diehard Chooks fan

Poor old Robbo, he has no idea how to coach 6 again. Easts will make the eight because they have a stacked roster. Robbo will shuffle the team about, search for the miracle, then blame the less senior players when his shenanigans fail. His social commentary is up with the times though.

Predicting the 2024 NRL season - Panthers' era over, Dragons to get spoon, Cowboys rising - and the stars under most pressure

Highly agree with all you say. While Manu’s fullback stats are impressive, he is too big a body for that position, and soon follows up the fullback gig with a couple of weeks out due to hamstring issues. Also coach Robinson seems to be all over the shop in recent years, which may be wearing on players and assistant coaches. They don’t want to play with them and they don’t want to play against them.

Manu’s move shows that the Roosters' sombrero doesn’t exist – and that his departure is their call

The Robinson/Cronk coaching combo is the worst in the league. Last year alone Walker to 5/8, then out, Keary to half and back to 5/8, Sualli to centre, Hutch to centre, Joey to 5/8, swaps Radleys running game out to a passing game, buys Napa/Brown and plays them both before Whyte, May and Wong, talks up JWH and Radleys send off’s as if it’s a benefit. These two ‘coaching legends’ cannot adapt to the 6 again rules and live off past glories to the detriment of the Roosters. The only players Robinson has added value to in his tenure are Tedesco and Collins. Walker is better off walking.
