You can referee/report on a team/sport while still being objective/neutral.
It’s called professionalism.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

NSW Financials for 2022 mentioned RA funding of $6,675,023 for all of NSW rugby, not just Waratahs. I wonder how this compare to other states funding?

And it mentions $217,357 total comprehensive income for the year for NSW Rugby (not just the Waratahs).

With the Waratahs off the books, this will look much better in future

Mentoring you put IN, while with financial/board/supplier you get BENEFITS OUT!! That is why I ask how you can put the 2 in the same camp!!!
With your financial/board/supplier statement it also looks like you are implying something more dubious/sinister than just not “independent” — that is why I asked the question!!!
YES, the Vic Gov will definitely (MUST) tender for any/all games to ensure they are held in Victoria/Melbourne/MCG — but it may not be as over the top amount as it was in the past, now just enough to beat NSW and maybe WA. In the past it was mentioned that large tender amounts were to ensure that REBELS play in SRP. Somewhere I read that $50?? million was mentioned if RWC Final is played @ MCG — will it stay at that amount or will it be reduced if NO Rebels to an amount to just beat Sydney and Perth?

@ScottD — a reasonable person reading about a murder investigation may find a defendant guilty — BUT that does not make them guilty. It’s up to the Jury/Judge to find them guilty, in this case the Judge is called ASIC, luckily not ASIO because then you have serious problems.

@Bluesfan — WOW — how do you put financial/board/supplier AND mentoring players into the same camp??? A few years back (2017?) the Vic Gov paid a very large amount of money to RA for Wallabies/Bledisloe games to be held in Melbourne over a number of years. The amount was VERY LARGE and not just LARGE — the VERY part was to ensure that the REBELS participate in SRP until and including 2025??. If no REBELS in 2025 — the Vic Gov want part of the VERY amount back and in future the amount paid for Wallabies games in Melbourne will not include the VERY part. This may have a significant impact on RA’s finances.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a REBELS Foundation Member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONFIRMED: Wallabies land final piece of coaching puzzle as ex-Lion signs on ahead of showpiece event

Don’t think that the Rebels expected one of their main sponsors to experience financial difficulties themselves + expecting money from RA that never eventuated. This would put lots of financial strain on the organization.
PLUS still getting over the almost 2 seasons where Rebels could not play at home because of covid — so extra expenses & no home crowd.
All this will have a negative impact on any board/business/finances, no matter how good the board is.
Getting to the Lions Tour and money made from the Rebels vs Lions game may/could/hopefully be a lifesaver.

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

@LucklyPhil — even if Geoff knows the details, I’m sure he is not allowed to share it, that will be the job of the Administrators — when they are ready!!!

@Kymbo, still better option than not having a team!

PE backed consortium 'in final stages' to save Melbourne Rebels with $30m injection and link with A-League club

@RebelMagpie!!
It’s only 8 trips a year!!!
I’m also a Foundation Rebels Member and I will definitely go, even if I have to take time off work.
Us Foundation Members have to make the sacrifice to ensure that generations after us have a team in Melbourne — that is how I see it.
PS!! Will be driving/public transport from Knox City, so will take a while to get there and back. Good music, in my case, will make the trip shorter.

@Jed — Bottom placed Rebels???
MMMM!!!
Maybe check the table, they are in 6th place and Tahs in 10th place.

PS!!! The Force is at the bottom of the table!!!

'Something's not working': Tahs' Good Friday turns into a nightmare as Rebels recruit Daugunu seals upset win

YES RA not their employer but if RA owns REBELS money it does not matter if they are family, friends, associates, buddies, 2nd cousins far removed — they still own them money

Rebels set to sue Rugby Australia as civil war erupts, Rugby Victoria President barred from summit

I read somewhere that the Board Members are responsible for any monies owned to the ATO if the club gets liquidated. Not sure if this is correct at all

Which of the other AUS clubs that got millions over the years have succeeded?

YES, I know that, just used it as an example!!!

If someone owes you money, money that can make a massive difference — do you walk away or fight for it!!!???

Rebels are fighting for what they believe they are owned.
I’m sure if you’re underplayed by your employer/customer you will also put up a fight to get your money!

@Bliksem?

If your employer underpays you, would you go quietly OR will you fight to get the monies owed to pay out to you?

THAT is why REBELS are taking RA to court!!!

There were quite a few articles over the last few months that mentioned that the REBELS was also keen on centralisation

If REBELS win, then RA could be up for paying all court cost.

LBJ – Unless you chain Sydney players to the floor OR take their families hostage, they will quickly move interstate to play NRC, if Sydney is not part of NRC.
And then good possibility they will sign with SRAU team other than TAHS!!

This will ensure that TAHS become even more “successful” than what they were this year OR over the past 26 years with their single SR Title win!!!

The coaches want it, and now it seems RA’s appetite for the NRC might be growing

Pedro — Rugby in decline since after the last successful Rugby World Cup in Australia.
Instead of building on the success of THAT World Cup, the people in charge at the time sat back, pat themselves on the back, told the world how wonderful they were AND did not enough to build rugby in AUS. AND NO Castle were not part of THAT group!!

Which sports are dying in Australia?

Stolen Force? What team is THAT?
I have heard of the Western Force that plays in the GRR competition!!
Is Stolen Force the 2nd XV in WA?

Rebels roll Lions for 37-17 Super win

AND you will loose the supporters from ACT and VIC.
We already lost a large group of the supporters from WA.
This reduction in supporters will lead to a reduction in SPONSORS.
