Not really coz it’s been the same ole same ole for the past few years…… buying players galore & announcing themselves as premiership contenders & achieving what? Zero! Premierships are not won in the first two rounds mate! Like others have said let’s see how well they’re doing at the pointy end of the season……well “a season”.

Why do you think they’re not? Did you read my post? Even the NRL said they were more concerned about the clubs backed by the leagues clubs. My point is that ALL clubs are in danger. Private clubs will still receive payments from their owners in some form as it’s in their interest to keep them afloat. …..what will the pokie backed clubs receive?

Ummmm I think you need to wake up mate! You make no sense at all with your article. Are you a Chartered Accountant? Are you a financial expert? Are you privy to all clubs accounts? Do you understand how private ownership works compared to support from a Leagues Club? In the case of what clubs should go & what clubs should stay then the clubs who operate with the tightest budgets & are successful obviously have a better management than those clubs who rely on pokies to finance & keep them afloat. I think you will see that the privately run clubs will get thru this drama & come out in reasonable condition. The private owners will not allow their investment to just wither & die after investing so much money! They spend less money to run their clubs & therefore are not so reliant on for example Leagues Clubs to prop them up. This means clubs like the Knights who were on the verge of bankruptcy a year or so ago will struggle without the Wests pokies money. Clubs like the Eels, Panthers etc will also come out worse at the end. Merging, dumping & relocating clubs will not happen…..if i was a betting man I’d say that Manly, Cronulla, Titans & Storm will be the safest of all the clubs in the survival stakes. Just my opinion & yes I’m awake!

Ummmmm Dragons / Illawarra are already merged….. & obviously not a Manly or Cronulla fan lolol. Your selection of teams would ensure rugby leagues fan base would drop by 50%. The game would be gone within a couple of years. You sure you’re not a mate of the author?

If it means we see less of Johns, Fitler & Lockyer then so be it. Those 3 are one reason I never watch or will watch NRL on 9. The most clueless of the lot is Johns…..Lockyer can’t string a sentence together & Fittler is just a parrot!

AJ finally something I’ve been talking to myself about for weeks lolol. CH9 should go & the NRL should look at a new partner. I’m sure one of the other networks would love to have the NRL on their books! Also we wouldn’t have to put up with the most boring trio of commentators on TV……Fittler, Lockyer & Johns. I’d cringe every time either of the 3 spoke, hence the reason I watch FOX. The bias that comes thru their commentary re certain teams is annoying to say the least. Great article mate!
