Sandpaper. A piece of sandpaper. Brought to the ground with the intention of cheating. A junior player bullied into applying it to the ball. A captain turning a blind eye. Systematic cheating. Atherton used dirt on the ball. This is allowed in the laws of cricket. Granted not from his pocket but hardly comparable with Australian transgression. You are correct in that England doesn’t own the moral high ground over Australia. All of cricket does.
