Humorous and insightful as usual, thanks for another great article Ryan 🙂

Real or fake? Four confusing curiosities coming out of Round 1

What a really interesting article, I had never considered the parallels between the two sports!

Grand final convergence theory

weather is shocking so 32,500 for me

Collingwood vs Fremantle: Friday Night Forecast

6 day break, but I guess if you take into consideration the travel factor its closer to 5

Adelaide vs North Melbourne: Thursday Night Forecast

Surely gws are a chance, they have one of the easiest runs home of any side in the top 8

Port's Power-down confirms it, the top eight is locked in

“so far the club has not disappointed, winning seven of their four games to currently be sitting sixth on the ladder.”
geez a bit stiff to only be 6th after that effort

Looking back at the best of the past 99 Giants' games

“There’s just a wonderful, comforting bunch of zeros everywhere you look.” Unfortunately I believe that those zeroes won’t be changing for Carlton, and I wouldn’t call them comforting…

Pipe Dream Wednesday: The best day of the AFL season

You can’t use Tasmania as an example against a WA team, to travel that far takes over 5 hours in only plane time, not taking into account waiting around and finding a hotel. Yes Hawthorn has always beaten Freo when it counts, but I do not believe that the Tasmania example is viable for that type of argument.

Why Hawthorn can’t win the premiership

I hope someone wins that isnt Hawthorn this year. Share the happiness and glory around I say. Ill be going for the Dockers because I believe that Pavlich and the other veterans deserve the success.

Which AFL club’s bandwagon will you jump on in September?

I think we also need to take into consideration that average heights have been steadily going up and so where it was rare to see lots of 190cm people in the past, it is much more common now and the elite teams need to pick those types of players to combat other teams 190cm players.
Good article though.

Is AFL's athleticism coming at a cost?

“So when some fans go to a match, within minutes of the start of the game their teams are goals behind, the flogging begins. There isn’t even five minutes of hope and cheer time for their team. It’s little wonder that those fans cease coming to games.”
Unfortunately I cannot agree with this although I mostly agree with the rest of this piece. Even in the two biggest losing margins this week, both teams were at least in the contest for part of it. For example, Carlton were actually winning 10 minutes into the Hawthorn game (albeit 2-1). In the other game, Brisbane were in the game until half time.
There are problems with AFL unevenness but I do not think it is as bad as you make out.

The AFL's unevenness is to its detriment

“Sydney might do it just to troll everyone”
lovely.

The Carlton trade value bible: How to beat the malaise

I completely agree with the Thursday night time slot but the AFL need to be very careful to not fixture too many or too many in a row. I guess we will see how much we enjoy it after the continuous run coming up in the next couple of rounds…

AFL is on a winner with Thursday night football

Really intriguing way of looking at the draw, thumbs up on coming up with it!
I also believe that you can lock in Freo for the minor Premiership, they only play one very challenging game (we think) for the rest of the season.

The AFL clubs most affected by the fixture
