I wish O’ Connor well, but his possible selection shows how barren , broken and largely irrelevant is the Australian ‘pathway’ system.
Despite all the NRC games and other competitions, it beggars belief that in the last four years , not enough young blood has been groomed to make even the thought of resurrecting O’ Connor , an irrelevant aberration.

I would rather a club promote a talented youngster than give a player a 5th or 6th chance. The future lies in rewarding and sticking by young talent. A club may as well come 8th with young talent with potential, than squander limited funds on noname journeymen and finish 7th.
