Harry Wilson should have been on the squad for last year’s world cup. If I were coaching the Wallabies he’d be my pick for 8, with Valetini moving to the side. I really hope he gets a run against Wales this year.

'Breathing life back into Australian rugby': How Reds revolution can supercharge several Wallaby careers

Thanks mate!

The Wrap: Wallabies are on their way home - can they please take the TMOs with them?

I’m sitting in Paris and just watched the Portugal vs Fiji game. For most of the match I dared to dream that the wallabies might go through after all. As always lately, it’s was hope dashed at the last minute. While sad I won’t get to watch them go round next week in Marseille, I can wholeheartedly say that Portugal were amazing anf courageous and fully deserved their win. A great match and a great advertisement for the game itself. Lovely to see them play as they did and get the win. Perhaps we should be asking the Bayonne express to coach down under…

Your answer is already alluded to within your article. Club rugby. I’ve played in Australia and overseas for a few random clubs over the years. Turn up and ask if you “can get a game today’ type of subbies clubs. Community, cammeraderie, fun, lifelong mates. Having played league too and suburban level, and hockey, they aren’t the same. That’s why you see 50 year old blokes still turning out for their clubs. That’s the most important thing anyway, and I don’t think that will change. Well, I dearly hope so.

This is the brutal reality: There are Aussies desperate to see Wallabies fail, and many want to see the sport's complete demise

Wales played with real heart and have a defensive grit which will help them as it gets tighter in the qs. I’m gutted but I’m proud to be a wallaby supporter and I still believe we have the nucleus of a world beating team. These dark days will pass and we can and will be better. I continue to believe and wish the players the best of luck as they play out the dead rubber games and head home. Good luck fellas and keep plugging away!

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

With respect, I disagree with the need for the coach to be transparent or reveal his thinking when it comes to selection. He chose the team he wanted, he is managing the makeup of the team based on injuries / form / long terms plans etc. He will live or die by the results. At the end of the day, only the results will matter.

How about.. drum roll.. “the Rugby World Cup”.

Should we change the name of the Webb Ellis Cup to recognise the competition's most iconic player?
