NSD will be another franchise league (something many fans have been railing against) I understand the finance will come from license fees & any broadcast arrangements which are unknown at this time

Could a National Second Division be more popular than the A-League?

Another bigger question is how much do these clubs earn.

I’m not sure many of these clubs mentioned above will have the financial resources to make jump to being fully pro but we’ll see how many EOI the FA gets

No doubt probably a few more will end up in Scotland soon

Destined for more: A-League players who need a move

City should have been awarded the match 3-0

Frustrated A-League fans form new body: Football Supporters Association Australia

Yep it’s been confusing Townsend reckons this has been on the table with clubs & focus groups for the past 12 months

The APL will be sweating on lots of neutrals in Sydney will attend the Grand final as an event if they start selling tickets months before teams playing in it are known

The A-League is still enjoyable - if we just ignore the administration

I don’t think expansion can happen for another few years yet since existing clubs are still struggling from covid impacts

Not even going to mention the 12-16 clubs supposedly joining the NSD at the end of the year & what financial impact this will have on the game

Shows the fine margins in football. Kuol equalises we could have taken it to extra time

Ch 9 this morning really seemed to be pushing for all remaining Victory matches to be played behind closed doors while interviewing James Johnson (he seemed to steer clear of it until Victory submission was assessed)

Victory braced for heavy response to fan violence

To think if only the APL signed a 3 year deal with VIC Government none of this would have happened

'In your nature to destroy yourselves': Melbourne derby becomes Australian football's judgement day

No excuse but I think a lot of this has to do with interstate rivalries across our game

FA and now the APL has always been considered Sydney centric and decisions like these further reinforce these perceptions

'Look at me!' Why do some football fans always make it about them?

Victory currently have 10 points after 7 matches if they deduct those + fine should large enough deterant

City keeper may be punished for throwing flare as Victory slapped with show-cause notice over pitch invasion

Yes the APL definitely underestimated what a chance to get Grand final means to fans in other states

The A-League has hit rock bottom. Can anyone steer it out of this mess?

Too be fair the APL probably didn’t think about it too much. They probably spoke to several sponsors after the NSW Govt deal and thought “Grand final week festival” while making some cash out of it without anticipating the fan blowback 😱

The A-League has hit rock bottom. Can anyone steer it out of this mess?

No one can predict it however the decision in the week to move the Grand final to Sydney certainly was the catalyst for 1 active supporter group to take things way too far

Ch 9 interviewed Danny Townsend this morning (surprisingly long interview) focus seemed to be on should have the APL known & been better prepared. They even asked him if they felt his job was on the line

The Greatest Final: Argentina win World Cup on penalties after Messi & Mbappe combine for thriller

Well in hindsight moving the Grand final to Sydney was a big mistake one now that the APL needs to rectify otherwise issues unfortunately will continue

All the talk about first past the post however it appears now Grand final hosting rights is the 1 we religiously believe in

FA vow 'strongest sanctions available' after 'unforgivable' A-League scenes, Victory fan group issue statement

Reaction to Sydney getting the next 3 Grand finals has simply been over the top crazy

Not sure Channel 10 would agree. It would mean no Brisbane club replaced with another from Sydney (squeezed in between WSW & the Bulls geographically)

Quit stalling - it's time to start a National Second Division

FIFA has 211 member nations to satisfy and they all fighting to only 32 spots every 4 years doesn’t sit well for a lot of countries

'Kill or be killed moment:' Andrew Redmayne responds to drink bottle shenanigans

No country takes World Cup qualifying for granted. Ask football mad nations like Italy, Colombia, Chile, Nigeria, Egypt etc none of them will be at the big show

Andrew Redmayne is a bloody legend 👍
