Canham, Jooste and Daugunu were huge. Odd that Jooste was kicking for touch and goals, probably not a good look for Carter Gordon. Gordon played really well, however.

A Canham/Amatosero locking combo is pretty menacing 👍

Tahs in turmoil: Hanigan and Harrison jump sinking ship, skipper forced to stay, CEO complains of 'tricky' task

Not too sure, although he seems the most qualified. May not fit the NSW Rugby clique, although some fresh perspectives from outside Sydney may help them

COMMENT: Bizarre selection call that sums up chaos and disconnect at Super Rugby's biggest basket case

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t throw everything at getting Andy Friend in? Successful Australian coach with significant overseas experience and could build something like Les Kiss. Instead they’re looking at Nathan Grey who was a disaster last time at the Waratahs.

Soon to be Harry Hockings. Could have also been Nick Frost-San but was saved at the death.

Tahs in turmoil: Hanigan and Harrison jump sinking ship, skipper forced to stay, CEO complains of 'tricky' task

Bit disingenuous of Harrison to hammer on a few weeks ago about saying he’s so thankful the Waratahs stuck with him over the injury years whilst it’s likely at the same time he was lining up some walkin’ around Yen. Unless there is something else afoot like Carter Gordon heading to NSW.
Hanigan is a big loss. Hard times ahead for the Waratahs.

I’d go for two power locks and an overgrown jumping back row like the French. The concept of a 7 that can run everywhere is outdated for the Wallabies but I think would work in the last 20-30 like Luke Reimer at the Brums.

Super Rugby teams round 13: Frost to No.6, Noah back for Brumbies, Aubrey starts for Reds, Pone in for Rebels

Keen to see Frost at 6, he certainly has the pace and athleticism there. Might take some time and mentoring by Swinton and get on the phone to Courtney Lawes to get the finer details of folding blokes.
The announcement of the benching of Tim Ryan for Vunivalu has ruined my day.

Day drinking > night drinking. Feels more of an atmosphere in the afternoon anyway.

Five things: Where DC got it wrong with Tahs, perception and reality for Wallabies hopeful as Test bolter shines

There’s no shame in having Damien Penaud fend you off and score, it’s happened to the best out there 👍

Five things: Where DC got it wrong with Tahs, perception and reality for Wallabies hopeful as Test bolter shines

Great article and it’s been nice to see Williams and Amatosero grow into their new teams. Feeling good about our coverage at lock. Amatosero and Pone had significant weight for the Tahs scrum and it would’ve been cool to see on a dry pitch.
I prefer Flook over Ikitau for his versatility. Flook also doesn’t do cringeworthy faces to the camera everytime a point is scored, so that really edges him as my preferred 13, not to mention ongoing combinations with Paisami.

Japan uses Yen on Sam Cane. It’s super effective

Exactly. Or Ricky Ricciteli from the Blues apparently not knowing how to put a boot on so everyone goes for extended drinks and may as well break out the espresso machine.

What about the amount of out of control coaches and ex players masquerading as waterboys?

Yeah I mean he’s ok but when you’re talking about the elite level pace between international class players he’s not up there like prime Hogg or Hugo Keenan. He should only be considered at 10 due to Kellaway and Wright being better 15s, not to mention our outstanding pace between Toole, Lancaster and the Junkyard Dog.

The five candidates for the Wallabies No.10 jersey - and the old heads who may sneak in to join them

With all due respect, Donaldson doesn’t have pace. If you also look behind the meaning behind Schmidt’s comments about Lolesio ‘ … is the most consistent of the kickers, certainly at goal’ is probably a slightly backhanded compliment. He can kick a goal, sure, but I’d much rather see Gordon and Lynagh unlocking the Wallabies attack and defence counts more and more these days. Sexton, Farrell and Russell were never known to be turnstiles in the six nations.

They had Nephi Leatigaga and Tauakipulu in recent seasons. Vailanu is a gun for them at hooker every week. Not sure what you’re getting at

Feels a bit like giving your child the keys to the Porsche as their car to own and maintain. The Porsche is dinged up, broken down and has zero fuel when you go out the front to go check it out. Said child then has the audacity to call you out for not giving them enough of an allowance to fill it up to take it to the mechanic.

Rebels face more hurdles despite $25m rescue plan, call on RA to show support and reveal hand as court battle looms

Second player the same day after RA’s financial announcement. I wonder who we’ll hear about tomorrow. I’m low key just really salty that Carter Gordon could ever end up in the NRL.

Wallabies' young gun mulling NRL switch as Rebels' future continues to cloud picture

Surely this opens things up now for Angus Crichton to return to rugby? Paisami was looking much improved this year, so it’s a shame but good on the lad.

Exclusive: Wallabies star weighing up big move to England

Fair, but given that the author has ‘expert’ status, you’d expect a bit more. On the other hand, well written articles penned by rookies are buried way deep down in the Roar archives.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

Lynagh > Lolesio. The Reds drop off noticeably when Lynagh isn’t playing and he doesn’t tend to go missing from games. It’s better to keep a pair that have played well together all season anyway, so Paisami and Lynagh would be my combo.
