“Bakkies sprinted 40 metres to tackle Matthew Tait one foot from the try line”
See I don’t remember it this way.
I have just look at it on YouTube and it is Victor Matfield that sprints all the way and makes the tackle. Bakkies was nowhere near it.
This is M. Tait’s run on the 41st minute, which lead to the disallowed try.
Bakkies and Matfield were phenomenal in the Boks and Bulls setup and what Bakkies then accomplished at Toulon was nothing short of amazing.
But credit where credit is due, Victor Matfield made the sprint and the try saving tackle.
