well manjrekar is not someone you quote on anything,but sure why not .It ll all come around when India comes to bat tomorrow and that is the only way you can concclude what this pitch is and what it is not.
Fact of the matter is Australia has had the best of conditions to bat and should have no excuses now

I don’t know why people think this is a minefield ,just wait for 2 more days ,cause thats how long aussies will be in the field when India makes 500.People here are grossly misreading the pitch and the conditions,just because aussie batsmen are useless on anything but a concrete road.
on a side note,matt renshaw looks like a great prospect, also Staarc applied a much more useful approach to batting on this pitch than some of the main batsmen and results are there for everyone.

that was my reaction too. i think bidding isn’t the right way to go about,bidders get sucked in and bid way too much for mediocre players.

Yep definitely,Australia needs a strong batting lineup,most Aussies are expecting turning tracks but from what i have seen over the home season as an Indian,i can guarantee ,it ll be flatter tracks with a bit of assistance for the spinners,
So more the bowling Aussies should be worried about the batting,England after all did bat very well through out the tour and still lost by innings . .

Current aussie batsmen are probably the worst players of spinamong the top5 teams ,leave out smith maybe.
England for thier part did bat well ,though the pitches helped too as they dint turn till day 3 in most cases.

England got pretty sporting pitches throughout their India tour ,expect for maybe Mumbai ,even Mumbai didn’t turn till day 3 and even English would agree on that,so i don’t know how preparing green wickets is a payback.But fair enough,we beat them last time around in ODIs series in England too ,but then again green pitches in an ICC tournament is not gonna happen,high scoring games are what sell these days ,no matter where in world you are.
As far as SA tour is concerned,if the plan is to bowl short to Indian batsmen,lets just say SA would just loose the advantage,cause you can’t intimidate these Indian batsmen with short bowling ,
who would you bowl short too ?? Kohli ?? rahane?? Rahul?? yeah maybe you could try it against vijay but he is well aware of his limitations and rarely plays at short deliveries and
,and dale steyn is hardly what he used to be,rabada could be a problem but he is still inexperienced.

Clearly Ronan’O Connel has only been following the teams that have recently toured or played with Australia and well that can be excused.
FYI Shikhar dhawan will most probably be out of the team for India,KL rahul will probably play ahead of him,much more explosive opener if you ask me .
Kedar Jadhav has emerged Into another fantastic finisher /power hitter +part timer with the ball,shades of dhonis finishing abilities.
and yuvraj is back in the team and has been looking his former self ,hiting sixes at will.
and hardik pandya opens the bowling for India and and has proved decent enough with the bat too,hitting lusty blows whenever he gets a chance.
I would argue India probably has the most well balanced side among the top 5 at the moment.

I think its also necessary to point out that ,Bumrah and bhuvi are though infact a great pair of ODI bowlers and probably the best death bowling pair in ODI game today but India’s best fast bowling pair is still Yadav and Shami (i rate him as high as any bowler across any format)
