Can’t get much worse?

The four reasons why Souths can’t win the premiership in 2022

I think these days with the new rules, being pasted by 50 means less than it ever has.

The four reasons why Souths can’t win the premiership in 2022

Mate adding Latrell as a reason why South’s won’t win the comp? Really?

Agree with most of the others

I think Milford will have a great year.

Injuries permitting South’s will be there or thereabouts. Bunnies supporters expect our team to be top 4. That is where we are as a club.

What are your metrics for being a badly run club. One of the more absurd statements.

Membership numbers are huge
Great roster
Locked in players to ensure Bennett couldn’t ravage them
Three prelims and a GF in the last 4 years
Great juniors coming through

And your metrics are?

The four reasons why Souths can’t win the premiership in 2022

$480k for 2020. Sale of the century!!!

Why Latrell Mitchell should be praised according to Wayne Bennett

Fellow Rabbitohs this is something to celebrate. Probably the best centre in the game has signed with us for a pittance compared to what he has been offered elsewhere. And the terms strongly in our favour. What a deal.

To those that bagged him for seeking more money don’t have a leg to stand on. He wants to play FB and prove how good he can be.

To those that think Souths Should have had to pay more you need to consider what he was already on, and what other top centres are worth. Don’t compare it to the tigers offer.

In the end he chose the best team that needs a fullback, that his family have strong ties to, that will have a strong mentoring system around him, where he can develop into a strong young indigenous man. He has backed his ability and determination to be successful by taking this deal. Good luck to him.

Hopefully Souths are paying him $1M in 2022 after helping the Rabbits to a premiership or two. Glory glory glory.

It's finally over: Latrell Mitchell officially has a new club

Everything in their power to get rid of him?? Are you including offering him $800k, which to my knowledge would make him the highest paid centre in the game?!?!

Also, how has he conducted himself poorly during this process?

Roosters – turned it down as he wants to play fullback.

Bulldogs – didn’t want a FB as they have DWZ

Cowboys – always wanted Val

Tigers / Gold Coast – I don’t think he’s too keen to go to the Tigers, because they’re the Tigers. Maybe moving to GC with Cody Walker is his preference but this is dependant on Souths getting dispensation from the NRL for Sammy and then getting Jai Arrow, freeing up cash for the Titans to make a play for Latrell.

Or

He just wants to go to the Bunnies, even if it is 2021. Again dependent on the call on Sammy.

Time will tell but this dragging on is not Latrells fault. Why is it taking the NRL so long?

Were the Tigers right to withdraw their offer to Latrell?

There was also the year they faced the Rabbits in the second last game of the year with a finals spot up for grabs. It was a beautiful spring day at Leichhardt and the Bunnies hammered them.

Probably the last time the Bunnies will ever play at Leichhardt.

Which NRL teams will qualify for the finals?

I thought it would have been more appropriate to leave it as “the warriors were dudded”. No more, no less.

Also, last year they finished 2 points behind the Minor premiers over 26 rounds. Not a bad effort.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 19

You blame the recruitment manager?

Simms, JDB, Vaughan, Frizell, Hunt, Norman all play origin. Does any other team have six origin games players? Add McInnes and Widdop to that list and you have eight quality players that other teams would drool over. I think the coach has a lot to answer for. He isn’t getting the best out of his roster, or even close to it.

Robbie’s 300th inspires the Tigers, while the Red V continues to die a slow death

I love the two live games on a Friday night. Love it. It is brought about by the fact Queensland want a Friday game – every week! It will be tough for the first month for the banana benders.

The Friday 6pm game is unfair on Queenslanders

I’m pretty ignorant here but is this all about people who type “NRL” or “rugby World Cup” into Google? Has anyone on this site ever done this? I’m not sure how relevant this study is.

Rugby World Cup the 'most searched for' sporting event of 2015

I like the Castle one too.

It shouldn’t but it still looks terrible

Mate I don’t know. It would take him a few years, and he would have to change his body shape I imagine. Which wouldn’t be too hard since endurance is not required. If he dedicated the rest of his career to NFL I see no reason why he has any less chance than anyone else. He is a specimen. Our players have skills that NFL players don’t. Hayne is the exception to the rule? What do you base that on? NRL players are one for one. 100% success. And that was after 8 weeks.

Is Tom Burgess off to the NFL? The Bunnies say no, but...

There is no way he could make it. Americans are the best. They are much stronger and faster with better hands blah blah blah.

Well said. Great effort. With the limited opportunities RL provides for advertising, and less games, RL has done very well to get close to the AFL. I have always been envious of AFL having there own channel when on my way from 503 to 505. Not any more!

Woohoo. You had it under control all along David Smith. Good luck in future endeavours!

My understanding is that Fox will show EVERY game live. 3 simultaneously with nine.

It’s a bit like the Robbie Dean’s situation. You can get a kiwi coach but he still has to put Australians on the field.
Seriously though, so many questions to be answered next year with respect to the top echelon of, Rugby nations. ABs rebuilding, Can SA and Aus continue to improve. Are Argentina going to push their regular foes in The Rugby Champonship. Are Enhland going to improve. Exciting times.

SPIRO: Wallabies alert, here comes Eddie Jones and his new England warriors!

You are on the money with your analysis. The Broncs and Cows clearly have the advantage. I think Cody Walker will be pushing for a run this year if injury or poor form hit the Rabbitohs pairing. They were both disappointing last year. Reynolds gets the benefit of the doubt with his injury plagued year.

An early look at the 2016 NRL halves pairings: Part 1

Never has a half been as protected as much as Brooks. Since when do players get 3 or 4 years to acclimatise to first grade? It’s a joke. And how he got rookie of the year in front of Alex Johnston was also laughable. Hunt played reserve hooker with very limited minutes. Once he had No. 7 on his back he immediately performed.
Massive pressure on Brooks and Moses this year. Deservedly so.

Actually no. You mentioned Souths, refs, cricket, karate. Why didn’t you go Four hats?

Who will Souths punt to make room for Burgess?

3 Hats – you state “Souths allowed him to go”. Doesn’t this mean Soths released him from his contractual agreements?

Who will Souths punt to make room for Burgess?

Also he is one of the most marketable players in the comp who could demand the highest of third party agreements.

He is one of the top 5 players and $700k is fair. If it were higher, say 1M (which would in line with the biggest contract of all time) he would be forced to go to Newcastle or the Titans I.e. he would be lining up for Leeds.
