Dog bites man as a news story does not sell newspapers.

Man bites dog, now that’s a story.

It’s doesn’t matter whether it’s an aussie paper or English, their scribes write what sells to their readership. Hype is hyperbole.

And then you take quotes of the extreme kind and put it into an article, and then portray that as the English view of the test action?

Yeah, that’s balanced and thoughtful reporting.

UK View: Aussie alpha Cummins 'ruthlessly bossed', 'bereft of ideas' and waiting for rain to 'deliver them from torture'

leinster, coached by his old boss Stuart Lancaster, lol

Hmm. Leinster, Coached by Stuart Lancaster. Better than people give him credit for

A well balanced piece. I note that the increased regularity of concussions and HIA’s have concided with the ridiculous decision to allow “tactical” replacements utilising the whole bench. Rugby (I was taught) is a game to avoid contact and find the space. How the heck in a proffessional age, can you allow 8 fit guys to rampage on. The bench is for injurys, not as our “Lord” Eddie Jones calls “finishers”. Bring back the days, when players tire and the gaps open for the backs of Campese, Blanco and Underwood to exploit. The other problem is the scrum, where the whole weight of 8 blokes is balanced through the hooker’s kneck prior to the set. Bring back the days when it was just an engage, then “take the strain” from the ref as the back rows engaged after the initial front row hit, then the put in.

Your fowards in the loose were good, with great counter rucking. Yes the backs were poor, but when you face a defensive line speed like ENG’s then suddenly you have no space or time, hence all the mistakes. Eng made your backs poor, not necessarly that they actually are.

MATCH REPORT: Brave but bumbling, the Wallabies fall to Eddie for eighth straight time

OK, so a view from the NH (and by the way, Jamie George went off with a knee injury which is why Aus won the last scrum before 1/2 time as he couldn’t hook and take the pressure and hook at the same time…).
1. AUS scrum were actually very good, apart from their cute wheeling by the tight head prop that won an intitial penalty but then once the ref and lines spotted the ploy got pinged for after that. In the loose, you really had us and turnded us over mutiple times. Line out parity
2. Yes AUS were depleted, but so were ENG. We lost 3 1st picks through Covid, ending up with an unplanned Prop and Hooker debuts.
3. ENG line defensive speed is what caused the errors for your 15 et al, so don’t for pity’s sake start bashing them like some have on this forum.
4. After the last year of Sh1t rugby from England, at last we had running attacking rugby and 2 new bankers at 15 and at 10
5. The Autumn test as we call them, are a chance to develop new players. AUS had some really good moments, and some stunning breaks in the game. Trust me, you are in a good place with some of these players you have coming through. You’ll be up there at the top of the game with a shout for the next WRC.
6. Result in Farrell being injured. Maybe at last Eddie will play a blanced backline against SA and not put Tuilagi on the wing (and yes he was found out under the high ball by AUS)

Loved it.

We’ll get creamed by SA !

I agree and I’m and England supporter. Umpires call it as they see it, so make mistakes as they are just human. Even Dickie Bird made some howlers in his day. The pressure that Stokes put back to the Aussies caused the mistakes made by the Aussie team. Could not believe the DRS appeal for Leach. That was a collective failure as the decision was discussed between bowler, wickie and square leg fielder, born out of desperation to end it quick. The Aussie team were not thinking clearly under pressure, hence the cumulative mistakes leading to Stokes hitting the winning runs

A tad ill informed – In ODI and T20 its the strike rate that counts. Quick scoring takes the game away from the other team. Eoin Morgan average across all England ODIs is 131.54. This is what the England team try to do down the whole order. Max the return of runs per ball. This is the ethos that Eoin Morgan has brought as captain to England. As he now has a team that plays his way, his form has been fantastic.

His batting average for the last year to date is 50.14. Based on 12 games at home (India, Pak, Aus, SA, Bang & Afghan) and 9 away (WI, Sri Lanka & Ireland). Home Avg 50.92, Away Avg 50.11.

Eoin Morgan blasts ODI record 17 sixes in 71 balls of pure mayhem

Unlike the home nations, the French do not have an agreement between the clubs and and the national team ensuring their top French players are available for tests. This means that the French national team is shorn of talent when the clubs need them. During the 6N there are 2 rest weekends, except for the French top players who all turned out for their clubs. Hence France never select a settled side as their players are not fit due to the workload, and when a tour comes along to develop their team cohesively it is scuppered by the needs of the domestic clubs.

Check the other article on this from the previous day. Discussed at length

Joe Marler faces lengthy suspension over 'racist' taunt

Neil, its a bit ironic there are 2 articles here about Marler and his transgressions, yet nothing about Francis and the eye gouging incident from the same game. Great balance don’t you think?

Joe Marler faces lengthy suspension over 'racist' taunt

Its not the first or last time a player has gone too far in the heat of battle, or whilst “on tour”. No nation is immune from stupid behavior, eg Justin Harrison in 2005 with the Warritahs (wasn’t he also a WB?)

To add to Lion’s excellent description: Us non Gypsies tend to segment them into 2 types – travellers and pikies. Both either have settled in caravan camps or still migrate around. The difference is with the real travellers is that they respect the land and the residents living there, whereas the pikies trash everything and there is a lot of crime attributed to them.

Calling someone a Gypsy Boy is pretty nasty as the gypsy community has always been tainted by the pikies actions. Its much like calling someone a Jew Boy and the connotations that has from facism in purposefully identifying them so that they are always open to abuse, or worse.

What EJ has done for England is getting them to play whats in front of them rather than a rigid ethics “b”x based plan. Being English I can at last see the talent and depth of English rugby being unleashed. However, EJ is no genius. The talent was always there, just never harnessed since Ashton in 2007. There are going to be bumps on the road, notably the upcoming tour to AUS where the ridiculous number of domestic and European games will take injure our best players leaving “the best of the rest” to face the WB. In England club trumps national team. EJ is a top coach, but its the talent on the pitch such as Mario Otoje and Joseph freed to play heads up rugby that make the difference.

One other observation: EJ’s WB team in 2003 lost to us via a drop goal. CW got a nighthood and the plaudits, but both teams on that pitch were awesome.

Whether you like EJ or not, he’s not lost his abilities, and I look forward to November when a real yardstick can be drawn against our SH counterparts.

In the mean time, Triple Crown winners, Six Nations Champions and a possible Grand Slam is a pretty good start, in comparrison to any coach we’ve had sice 2003 RWC winners. Oh, and who was the coach managing the side that only lost by 3pts?

Eddie Jones the toast of Twickenham

Its the forearm smash after the Coe dissallowed try that will be his problem. The stupid gypsy jibe he made he was forced to apologise for at half time by his teammates to the player. Its probable his ban will be increased for the verbals. On its own he has massive censure for already.
