As a promoter supporter of the Newcastle Jets I find it hard to demoralise any of our squad but it has to be said formally or informally that Jack needs a rest. Young goalkeeper Noah James has proven how established he was aged only 15 saving a penalty goal & helping his under 16 Australian Joey’s team win the Asian Cup.
He had some extraordinary game play in Sydney but needs to get on the Jets paddock on game day soon to remind Shane Mattiske & our lovely coach Arthur Papas just how skilled this young man is.

The good, the bad and the ugly for the Newcastle Jets
A wonderful top shelf read by Roar journalist Simon Kelly. Our club has the manpower to put other clubs on notice this season. They have come from all corners of the globe all wanting to prove that they have what it takes to gel as a new squad & put the points on the scoreboard for the supporters. They have been training extraordinarily well & I had no doubt they’d win in Melbourne but as Simon covered in his article a few standout errors & a non committed referee sadly let us down.
But Sunday is the first day of the rest of our season & we need every Novocastrian supporting the hard work of our management & coaching staff who have given their all to give Newcastle the team of the century!

I read, then re’read the article about Lawrie which I adore.!! But now after reading all of these great post scripts I feel Newcastle has not only the best A-League FC but some pretty genuine supporters of this great game.

The A-League needs more Lawries
Most Australian’s who have European ancestors passed down the correct term for this game football since colonisation. Football has been in place for centuries in England possibly starting with Roman occupiers Diverse sporting culture with Rugby League followers calling there game also Football has made using the term Soccer easier to identify especially for children. Also
some kids identify with the word “Soccer” due to our men’s Representative team named the “Socceroo’s” !
