Pilferers? Who, the anonymous Francois Louw? The slow and ponderous Schalk Burger? Who are these four pilferers you speak of? The only player one could consider a pilferer for the current Bok team is Bismarck du Plessis. I don’t think there’s a team in the last 8 who wouldn’t beat the Springboks on the floor. Heinrich Brussow and Jaco Kriel are pllferers but neither one is big enough for the Heyneke Meyer model so we take the field with cumbersome donkeys instead.

I wish I was as confident as you about our pack. The much-vaunted Bok front row has been found wanting for years now and this myth that we are this great scrumming team is just that . . . a myth. Yes, we have a potentially great lock partnership in Lood de Jager and Eben Etzebeth with Pieter-Steph du Toit on the bench keeping them on their toes, but what does it help to dominate lineouts if we’re too dumb to kick the ball into touch and rely on mindless up-and-unders instead?

I’m also not convinced that JP PIetersen is suddenly the great player he was three seasons ago just because he scored a few tries that my granny could have scored.against Samoa. I’d rate Wille le Roux a lot more highly if he cut out the interminable chip kicks and I’d like him a lot more if he stopped diving, play-acting and trying to be the glory boy.

I agree with a lot of your other points. Nice post even if I didn’t find it entirely convincing.

Go Bokke!

Are the Springboks back on track?

Cheers wardad. How is your Fantasy Rugby team doing?

Sad endings to great rugby careers

Yes, Matt Giteau is playing pretty well and he’s forged a good understanding with Bernard Foley, but I still think you Aussies missed a trick in not selecting Samu Kerevi as your inside centre for this tournament. Kerevi was nothing short of sensational in this year’s S15 and bust tackles almost at will. Yes, they’re two very different types of players and I won’t dispute that Giteau adds some different strings to the bow, but if it was me I’d pick Kerevi in a heartbeat.

Cheika to toast unlikely ally as Giteau soars

I’m with dave. Argentina are emerging as the dark horses of this tournament and I reckon the fresh and rested Pumas are going to rip the tired Irish a new one.

Vamos Los Pumas!

The World Cup Wrap: Quarter-finalists decided but only three teams can win

Have to say I like the uniform black boots and if I was a coach I’d insist that my team wears the same colour boots. Never understood why everyone has to wear the same jersey, same shorts and same socks but they can wear the most garish and attention-seeking boots.

Rugby is a team game and it’s a man’s game. Leave the showpony boots to the mincing footballers. Good on you All Blacks!

Any colour you want, as long as it's All Black

Really? Wouldn’t it have been easier (and more hygienic) just to use . . . ummmm . . . toilet paper?

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

Hi Wardad. Yes, one and the same.

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

Cheers Roy!

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

Tell you what, RedsKing, next time you start reading one of my posts and find you can’t read more than the first line, don’t push yourself to read the rest and rather go find something else to do. That way you’ll be spared this red rage you’re obviously feeling while the rest of us will be spared your tedious, obnoxious and repetitive comments. It’s a win-win solution for everyone.

Also, if you have a problem with “my” spelling of Heyneke Meyer, perhaps you should write a very strongly-worded letter to the moderators of this site who edit posts and in this case changed the spelling. Okay? Run along now . . .

“Well I suppose if you start with click bait like that……….”

Then what? You didn’t fnish your sentence.

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

No, you’re right there. I don’t think Schalk is a particularly talented passer of the ball and I’d much rather see the Springbok flyhalf making the backline decisions and distrubuting the ball.

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

If Schalk is such a great link man, then how come so many of his passes result in the receiver having to stop, reach backwards and then start running again?

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

You want to see Schalk distribute more? Seriously?

Not sure what type of bulldozers you’re used to in your part of the world but I wouldn’t be overly interested in a bulldozer that fell into pieces the first time it encountered a speed bump..

Schalk Burger as first receiver is terrifying

A once-in-a-generation scavenger, tackler and ball-winner (If you conveniently forget about Andre Venter for a moment). A weak ball carrier though . . . and surely even Schalk’s biggest fans have to admit he hasn’t got the pace or the hands to perform the role of a back.

Ag Oom Paul, no, my article was not intended to be parody,

I don’t expect people to agree with me. I’ve had quite a few strange looks around the braai when I’ve voiced my concern that Schalk Burger is our main backline weapon and Heyneke Meyer certainly doesn’t believe it’s a problem that our weakest ball carrier does all the ball carrying.

Anyway, if you don’t get it then you’re probably like the vast majority of Springbokl supporters who don’t tolerat any criticism of Schalk Burger. Hey, I like Schalk too . . . but only when the other team has the ball. When we’ve got it, he’s honestly the last player I want to see involved.

McMahon looks a star in the making but he’s going to struggle to make it as an international opensider where the Wallabies have such great depth. Maybe retread him as a blindsider? Fardy’s a bit of a plodder and the Wallabies don’t have anywhere near the same depth at 6 that they have at 7.

Also, you can then call your loose trio “McPoop”.

Wales, beware the McMahon

I get the distinct impression you missed the entire point of my post.
