It’s like reading a drunk AND stoned Peter Fitzsimmons. Yet somehow even more incoherent and pompous? Didn’t I read an equally vacuous article by the same author months ago?

The last column about Israel Folau ever, I promise

Odd comment. For starters, a straw-man argument involves mis-representing an opponents thesis – then debunking the mis-representation. Folau listed many groups of people. Seemed pretty broad and “inclusive” to me. Can’t imagine anyone not making the list. But then after reading your comment I thought by crikey he’s right… Folau did forgot to say that bisexual-african-american-midgets-suffering from rare genetic albino skin disorders – are going to h.e.l.l. Good point Mr Oaf.

Rugby AU and Israel Folau settle legal dispute

Totally agree with Folau.
He was talking about Hell – the Biblical Christian theological construct (eg: hell & salvation).
Most gays, atheists and activists are talking about hell – the offensive vernacular construct (eg “go to hell you XYZ”).
The theological Hell is about spending eternity apart from God. The activists hell is about hurt feelings and feeling offended.
Gays just need to realise Christian theology says EVERYONE IS GOING TO HELL. It’s offensive to many. It’s both an offensive discriminatory religion and a gracious forgiving inclusive religion. Quite the nuanced paradox.
But while gays condemn Folau now with self righteous indignation – I look forward to the hypocrisy to come when Folau gets skewered on offensive tawdry Hateful gay Mardi Gras floats. He will be a target of hypocritical hate.
Most vocal commenters against Folau are atheists (eg: Peter Fitzsimmons). So who gives a fig if you’re told you’re going to hell? Would you prefer to be told you’re going to Heaven??? To be in a place with a god you don’t believe exists anyway??? What if Folau said gays are going to the Garden of Eden, another theological construct most atheists don’t believe exists either?
Biblical Heaven is the place God is. Biblical Hell is the place God is not. How ridiculous to hear so many aggrieved victimised excluded atheists express indignation at being told they are going to spend eternity in a place where the God they don’t believe in – wont be stopping by.

Rugby AU and Israel Folau settle legal dispute

Guess what Michael. The concepts of heaven and hell are at their core – discriminatory.

Its like a homeowner who gets to choose who enters their home. You might have a non-homophobe policy. That’s your right. God has a few policies of His own. Such is His right.

Michael Cheika's failure at the World Cup is Rugby Australia's, too

Hell. A place most gays and sinners insist is imaginary, like the fairy god mother and the tooth fairy…

But upon being told they can’t enter…

Get their Versace knickers in a knot.

Michael Cheika's failure at the World Cup is Rugby Australia's, too

No Folau. No finishing specialist. No win. But so what? In this new environment of inclusiveness, Australia should abandon the desire to win. Instead we should hold a major parade along oxford street and celebrate our fabulous wallabies. Such a parade should culminate in awarding each Wallaby a CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION. Well done boys. Each one of you is very, very special. We are ALL so very, very PROUD of you.

I remember peter Fitzsimmons wrote an article after folau’s sacking, after they won their next match, gloating how he wasn’t needed. Then they lost the next match. And he was silent. How I would love to rub the 40-16 loss in his face.
Sacking Folau was a schism moment in Australian Rugby. I haven’t watched a minute of rugby since. But reading your rant reminded me why I detest folau’s detractors so much.

Whinging poms? I think this term deserves an upgrade to whinging aussies. the “culture” left by cheika which has permeated the wallabies and wallaby fan base… is whinging. Oh and complaining. And don’t forget how unfair the wallabies are treated. They’re definitely victims. It’s pathetic and it’s weak and it’s endemic. And in the words of that national treasure Pauline Hanson: it’s un-Australian.

England eliminate Wallabies in World Cup quarter-final

Better off? Really? I’m looking forward to the first ever ticket-tape parade for a wallabies team getting a World Cup PARTICIPATION AWARD! Maybe we should call it an INCLUSIVENESS parade!

England eliminate Wallabies in World Cup quarter-final

…and I’m interested to read how rugby tragics are interpreting the loss.
And I’m very, very interested to see if anyone references the article posted here a few days ago by some nniittwwiitt – on how the wallabies were a much, much stronger team WITHOUT Folau and his…. FINISHING ABILITIES!

Catharsis. Which is the same reason as most commenters. But while they lament the loss of this particular game – I do so for the loss of The Game – at the hands of Raelene Castle. A far greater tragedy in my view.

England eliminate Wallabies in World Cup quarter-final

Didn’t watch it. Haven’t watched any rugby since Folau was ex-communicated…

Possession. Territory. Momentum…

Sure sounds like the wallabies needed a finisher.

I like Gus.
He is a commentator.
His role is to… comment!
I like his comments (opinions, judgements, frustrations, solutions, evaluations).

I didn’t like this article.

What is the descriptor for someone who comments on commentators?

Referees get it right and the commentators misread the room - again

Peter. Peter. Peter…

Yes there was a player missing…

“There was a player missing … I can’t remember, what was his name? Is it Israel? What happened to that bloke?” FitzSimons said on Sports Sunday.

Bledi hell! Wallabies walloped by brilliant All Blacks

No mention of the Boomers – Philippines brawl? That debacle had consequences.

If I was forking out US$170m I wouldn’t let my employee play for free for some ass-end-of-the-world irrelevant national team either.

Australia doesn't really know Ben Simmons

I have always found the silence deafening when a cycling title is stripped from a cheat…

Had the cyclist coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th (heck, anyone in the peleton) been clean – they would have been vocal in demanding the title.

Instead we just hear crickets chirping.

Cycling needs to define consistent drug punishments

And yet a few weeks ago when the federal cabinet was sworn in by the governor general most ministers swore oaths on the bible – one on the Torah. Hardly obsolete. This rabbit hole began because many expressed a belief about being born gay. And because of this belief folau should shut up. My point was being born ‘something’ in the genetic world implies being hardwired from genes/the genome. If it was simple. It would be mendelian. If its complex – it would be a complex trait. If it’s a complex trait – it’s also environmental (in-utero, and/or psychosocial). You were right to correct my semantics about “born gay”. However your inclusion of in-utero influences (or their possibility) seemed an own-goal to me because they are categorized as ‘environmental’ from a genetics perspective anyway. And not intending to be rude, but you haven’t put a single fact on the table?

Giving to Israel Folau isn't patriotic, it's funding fanaticism

Maybe our Constitution needs a new Ammendment:

We the people of Australia have by way of Referendum determined ALL homosexuals must be given admission to Heaven. Everyone else can remain sinners in the eyes of The Lord and will still be going to hell.

Giving to Israel Folau isn't patriotic, it's funding fanaticism

I wasn’t aware the Constition concerned itself with entry into Heaven or Hell?

Giving to Israel Folau isn't patriotic, it's funding fanaticism

My point is not to say it’s impossible to be “born gay”. My point is to challenge the assertion as a dogmatic fact. For if it were fact, there would be many genetic implications which at this point are not well enough understood. However. Psycho-social factors must be important for sexuality. Complex traits are by definition gaussian in their appearance. They follow a normal distribution. Surely masculinity and femininity follow gaussian distributions? We all know men more manly and men more feminine and an average somewhere in between. Feminine woman. And butch/masculine women. I know when I was at school the “majority” could be cruel and would bully the masculine/feminine outliers. More feminine/artistic or dramatic boys were called vile names daily. I’m not saying people can’t be born gay. But I’m sure the environment/psycho/social influences are important. For the outlier kids I observed at school who later came out as gay, how do we know the direction of causality? The majority was cruel. Did they find acceptance and approval and love with homosexuals? Was their sexuality hardwired? Or influenced by the intolerance and cruelty of the horde? The older I got – I always enjoyed mating heterosexual couples who were different. More feminine husband. More masculine wife. I am quite comfortable around effeminate men. And do not feel the need to pigeon hole them as gay. I’ve met too many straight feminine men now. But my take home message: sexuality in complex. Complex traits are complex. So environment and psycho social factors matter.

Giving to Israel Folau isn't patriotic, it's funding fanaticism

I said epigenetics was a “possible” mechanism for environment to influence the genome in a non mutatgenic way.

Anyway, to geneticists, changes in-utero are “environmental”. Eg: complex trait = multiple Gene’s + gene-gene interactions + epigenetic changes + environment.

If folau was admonished because of a dogmatic belief people are born gay… and their strongest argument is some suggested links between in-utero hormone levels (which is en environmental input anyway).

Well it doesnt sound like much of a foundation to throw stones.

The phrase “Qantas is screwed” in my first response flagged the comment as requiring moderator approval. Makes sense I suppose as it can be used in personal abuse.

The Wallabies need another Kiwi coach

Good question. I dont know enough about the FWA rules governing third parties. And I don’t know the relevant case law/precedents.

Re: multiple rapid comments. I used a cuss word and this triggered an automatic flag – so I tried again without cuss word (s-c-r-e-w-e-d).

The Wallabies need another Kiwi coach

If your right in point 2. Qantas is in trouble with the FWC. As a “3rd party”. Rhings they can and cannot do.

The Wallabies need another Kiwi coach

Qantas in big trouble with FWC if your point 2 is correct.
