If what is reported is true, to say that you have “unfinished business” one minute and then to have met with Swedish FA the next then you can bugger off.

Australia FA should look at someone like Joe Montemurro… an Aussie with a pretty good track record in women’s football.

Gustavsson 'interviewed' for Swedish men's role - despite professing 'love' for Matildas and 'unfinished business'

Regarding your assessment of Duke…”he ran, chased and toiled admirably up front” …. disagree on that one completely. Apart from his attempted cracking strike, I thought he did very little, and provided no urgency or intensity to chase and harass when the French defenders had the ball. It seemed to me he was carrying a strain or something, because he’s usually pretty good in that respect.

'Deer in the headlights': Defender roasted, talisman subdued - how 'terrorised' Socceroos players rated

Obviously a terrible thing to occur… but this has absolutely nothing to do with the article.
Not sure why you would comment on this here… maybe too much positivity?

Better salaries, younger stars: The PFA is excited about the A-League Men

I think seeing the Bombers delist 4 shows that they are now more likely to use the 3 top ten picks rather than move up the order. They now have 6 senior spots free which allows for the 3 top ten picks plus the two NGA players, and then another on a free agent perhaps?

AFL draft: Jamarra and the five most likely

Gee you’re a ray of sunshine Johan. It’s a good thing the people now in charge of running the game don’t share your level of enthusiasm. How do you know there is no appetite for 3 teams in Sydney? And it seems you’re unaware or have forgotten about Australia’s previous encounters with Jordan. “Ridiculously easy” is a stretch. If we slip up with them, it’s going to come down to goal difference to be one of the better 2nd placed teams. Whilst “association football of high quality” may allow for greater levels of cynicism, it certainly doesn’t translate to a greater level of knowledge about the game.

Finally, football in Australia is again on the up

As good as Brown has been recently, I’d have Smack in the best 22 in place of him.

2019 AFL season preview: Essendon Bombers

Nice write up! Always good to read something positive amongst all the doom and gloom on football in this country. Whilst there is certainly some potential quality Aussie kids plying their trade around the world, half the battle is getting them released from their respective clubs for these junior tournaments. More often than not we’ve recently had to rely on squads predominantly made up of y-league and a-league players. A couple of young players I read about recently who seem to be doing okay in Portugal Kristian Trajceski and Dylan Collard would also be worth looking at.

Could a Socceroos squad full of youngsters win the World Cup?
