Maybe expend it into an NPC ??????

'Toughest decision': Wallaby's blunt admission over form as Force land Brumbies lock, teammate brought to tears

Yeah, I was referring to the needless dirty stuff too.

I think he has shown himself this season to be a lot more disciplined than he was. Maybe the message got through.

I don’t think the Brumbies have too much to worry about, they are still the destination of choice I think.

What the Eagles and Dockers do have is a wide roster to draw from. So if a player isn’t performing they can be dropped or managed (if it is a niggling issue). The Force have never had that luxury. What this recruitment does is provide 3 middle career starting locks in the next year team so we then have a foundation to bring academy players like Jhye Legg through without putting into the caldron too early.

Next year we will be looking to have about 40 players at SR level and a few young lads coming through from the academy. Much better than 20-25 SR level players and then a huge gap to the rest which is what we have had to deal with historically.

….shiny toys out wide.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard the Force outside backs described as “shiny”. In fact talk at the start of the season was that they were utilitarian. Admittedly, Kuenzle and Tiatia have been very good on the wings since Potter was injured.

Intensity seems to go missing at times. Just not good enough.

Chiefs all but extinguish Force’s finals hopes in record Tron trouncing, injury concerns for Dmac

A massive difference between the Chiefs game and Crusaders game on that front.

Actually , in his first game against the Crusaders he made multiple tackles. Don’t let hyperbole ruin your point.

The ATO voted against the DOCA

Yep, then the team folds mid season and they end up in court. Where is the win in that?

Agreed

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

No, the Rebels directors did.
I’m glad that’s your base position and I agree that , that is a worthy target. The nuance here is that the DOCA has elements that are also worthy. For example moving to a stadium that is “right sized” for the crowds they get and targetting the interest groups . The problem is that these are wrapped in with components that simply can’t be accepted by RA.
The DOCA is clever in that regard but it is fundamentally dishonest. If the proponents were in fact acting in the best interest of rugby in Victoria then they would drop the preconditions vis a vis the ATO and suing RA. The fact they have those conditions tells the story.

No mate. Directors are responsible for the performance of the company. The buck stops with them.

Who?

The last one didn’t actually have any money as it turned out.

I suppose RA could have cancelled the license. What other leverage do you think they had?

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

You can only read a balance sheet if you are given one. Rebel directors didn’t file accounts for five years.

KPM
That is probably a legitimate point.

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

Because the DOCA relies on two things ,
1. ATO not prosecuting directors (which clearly they may well do since they voted against the DOCA):and
2. The consortium successfully suing RA.

Why would RA (or rugby supporters) support that proposal?

What rich individual? Are you volunteering?

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

Because they didn’t rack up $23.1 m in debt and didn’t trade whilst insolvent and did have instances of improper payments to directors while insolvent.

It’s not rocket science mate.

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

I don’t think RA is against it at all. But the proposal in the DOCA is based on the backers successfully suing RA. There is no way that RA would back a proposal that relies on them losing a court case and the proponents knew that (and so does everyone else). To criticise RA for not backing what is essentially a fake proposal is grossly dishonest .

RA have poured a lot of money into the Rebels over the last 10 years. So I think they’ve been pretty supportive. The problem is they have got no money to keep doing that and the last time they trusted a “rich guy with deep pockets” the club lost $23.1m. I think they rightly have trust issues and can’t afford to get it wrong.

The Administrators investigation just announced that they did trade while insolvent since 2018. Perhaps you should read it as it is public.

Someone needs to explain to me how what is being proposed in 2024 is different to what was proposed in 2017 for 2018 onwards? Outside moving the games, it is the same proposal that failed. “We’re going to raise some money and she’ll be apples mate”. Except this time it includes, “support us so we can pursue legal action against you”.

According to you, the bank is also responsible.
