Weideman played well y/day BUT on the back of the Dees playing well.
Maybe that’s the key to W. I thought his first 10 mins y/day were horrible but when the Dees fired so did he.

So, for me, we still need a big presence up front. I will watch with real interest how W goes against Harris Andrews/Gardiner this week.

Gambling a future on a corrupted present: The trade that will sink a club

I am not sure about Weideman’s long term prospects. He is 23 now. J Brown/Tom Lynch/Hogan had made it by age 23. Look at the King brothers/Tom Lynch. To me he looks like a player who doesn’t have enough self -belief and plays nervous.

I think May and Lever will work. I want to see Lever play a full season first.

We have a full, fit list. We will know by year’s end where we stand.

“Melbourne need to kick-start their dying season as soon as possible”

Seems to me that your article is filled with information to assist you to reach a pre-determined outcome. Of course Melbourne could have lost the two games they won.
That logic could be applied to most games.

I can run a line that Melbourne could also have easily won the game against the Cat’s and the Tiger’s.

Melbourne’s footy game problems are well known. They lose matches because of their predominant issue of poor forward connection and the now characterized “red -line” footy.

Jackson will be a great Dees footballer and Kozzy and Rivers. Oh, and all being well, health wise, a bloke called Bennell as well!

For me, I really like the new Dee’s structure and line up. It suits the Dees and not anyone else. That’s how it is meant to be.

How you can conclude that Dees must lose to Essendon is beyond me.

The Dees don’t need a Walsh to assist a Cripps! They didn’t trade for that crutch.

Given the season to date, your suggestion that the Mighty Hawks are underwhelming is a nonsense. Hawks are 3/3. Their last outing was poor. So was the Lions/the Saints/the Suns/etc. but before that some meritorious wins.

That’s the nature of the season.

Let’s talk at season’s end!

Gambling a future on a corrupted present: The trade that will sink a club

I have kept ( and watch) the video of NJ ” Heart & Soul”. That’s always my memory of Nathan. Who could have blamed him if he left Melbourne after all those years being smashed/humiliated with the Dees going nowhere.
He kept faith with our beloved Demons. So many Dee’s supporters I know hung in there as Members because of Nathan.
So, “All Australian” would have been great and at another Club -probably but I will be forever grateful he stayed a Demon.

Your club’s best player who has not been an All Australian: Part 2

No such thing as best ever. Best of era/Best of decade. Sure. For all the reasons mentioned – size, speed, professionalism, team tactics etc.

So many variables but wouldn’t it be awesome to see all the champs on a level playing field? Can’t wait for a digital game to come out which makes that happen.

In defence of Daisy Pearce

Been a 60 year Dees fanatic. No excuses this year. Burgess has been critical. Injuries and attitude created a gruesome 19. We all understand our own teams best. Dees have for years been exploited on the outside.
A fit Hannan/Melksham ( best goal of 2019- left foot goal v Hawks semi)/Vandenburg/Tmac/May/Lever and outside link runners WILL make a huge difference. If I see Petracca ( he is superfit) kicking goals instead of looking traumatized to kick for goals I will not be going to the snow.
