I’m with you Mike. We have very high expectations on our all rounders and a lot of folk don’t seem to understand what his bowling is doing for the team balance right now. I’d persevere and look at playing Inglis at 6.

Future star or not, this is why Cameron Green should be dropped for Hobart Test

Exactly Rossi, we just need more output from our keeper. Carey was selected with zero form. What did they expect?

Marsh doesn’t have better figures, a quick glance on Cricinfo suggests you might be confused.

I think we have crazy high expectations on all rounders in this Country. We know he can bat, look at his FC record. Symonds and Watson were both pretty good cricketers yet we’re torched in the media. Flintoff who averaged 31 with bat and 32 with ball was absolutely lauded. He probably would have been heavily scrutinised if he suited up for Aus. Green in his short career is going at 28 and 27. It’s comparable. Just give it time.

See I reckon his bowling has been enough to justify keeping him. It’s an interesting debate.

Because he is a clearly better bowling option than Head & Khawaja and it’s balanced the attack. Perhaps he goes wicketless next innings but makes a 50. All rounders are gold.

Green is bowling beautifully and it must be said up until now, injuries have hidden just how good he is with the kookaburra. You just can’t compare Labuschagne’s bowling to Green’s with a straight face and the bowling unit is so much better with his inclusion. I certainly see merit in the argument, he keeps making shield runs and nothing for Australia. But you’ve barely touched on his impact with the ball and what it has done for the team dynamics. After all he is an all rounder. Perhaps the selectors got it wrong with Carey? He wasn’t selected on form, and has continued his bad run for Australia. Six and Seven both aren’t making runs, but it hasn’t mattered yet as we bat deep, with Starc, Cummins, Richardson and Neser all above average bowler-batsman. I’d persevere for a litttle longer and give serious thought to another keeper if Carey continues to flop.

Agree, Greens bowling has added an extra dimension to this attack. Stick with him.

As far as our back up bowlers go, Boland is probably an ok selection if it’s a good batting surface. If it’s a spicy wicket I’d have Richardson every day. He would probably excel in South Africa and the UK. Very happy to see Boland play again though, well deserved and humble. Is Neser fit or has he been leapfrogged I wonder? Sadly I think the India/S.A series might be grabbing more of my attention such is this rabble called England. South Africa have unearthed one in Jansen.

Khawaja gets his chance as Pat Cummins confirms Australia's XI for Sydney's Ashes Test

Don’t bite, can we all just agree that comment was wildly ridiculous?

BRETT GEEVES: Boland's crushing of 'veterans fifth grade' England might not be enough for another Test

Who do you drop then? I like it but who goes out? You’ve dropped Starc and brought in two more bowlers! Mathematics isn’t my strong suit however……….

Except only Cummins, Jhye and Boland have done so.

Which he will

Bit of support for Paul here. I see great benefits in rotating. The guys that are blooded are going to be better for it when they are called up in the future due to the inevitable form and injury issues that arise. Also Boland’s Horses for courses selection was a raging success and so was Richardson’s under lights. If Starc was rested last year perhaps we may not have lost to India? Goes both ways as well though, I remember him being rotated out of a crucial test in England which we lost badly. It’s just balancing it correctly.

Boland has never averaged mid thirties. You say that after one innings when he was clearly not given the pill as much as the other two quicks. In fact he barely got a bowl in the first 20 overs of the second innings well, making the feat all the more remarkable. I never said Boland is better than Neser, but I do think he is stiff to be considered for debut later than him. The MCG was terribly flat for most of his career. Personally I really rate Richardson, but don’t believe he is suited to certain pitches that offer no movement, the same with Neser. They both offer more with the bat. I strongly believe Neser has benefited from the Gabba, regardless of what you suggest. And yes I do think Harris has benefited since he’s made the switch to Victoria. Khawaja would probably have made plenty more runs playing on the old MCG wicket every week no doubt.

'He's been titanic': Cummins names player of the series, targets world No.1 ranking and reflects on Ashes 'madness'

He played six tests and that’s the conclusion you’ve come up with. Very harsh and not even remotely true. Regardless, his average stands at 55 and he played well over 200 FC games for an average of 48. He probably averaged closer to 60 for the second half of his career after a slow start but yeah only good on flat tracks.

Ashes Scout: Ponting backs 'staggering' Boland call, England legends bay for blood, left-field batting option emerges

What evidence is there of that? It’s not a stretch to imagine he wasn’t liked though.

I dunno, hindsight tells me Symond’s was ok. He averaged over 40 could bowl some handy overs and was simply brilliant in the field. He was much maligned, but that was due to the ridiculous expectations we had at the time.

Yes but Hazlewood simply won’t be leapfrogged by Boland. We all know that. It’s this notion you had that the other two have earn’t favouritism over Boland that confuses me.

Talking about the long career of Boland’s playing well for the majority of that time on a road. Khawaja and Renshaw have played 44 more tests than Boland so what point exactly have you made?

Sheik it’s interesting that you mention Richardson and Neser have worked hard for their places ahead of him. Perhap’s Boland has been working equally as hard(definitely for longer than Richo). His record is very good and he simply hasn’t had the luxury of plying his trade at the Gabba or the WACA. I’m not sure which way I would go, but those two guys are not stiff to be leapfrogged by Boland. He’s been good for some time and Victoria have won a lot of cricket during his time. He also just took 6/7. The selectors have been inspired this year, partly due to injury yet still got a lot right.

Depends how you look at it, maybe Boland is stiff to have been behind Neser in the pecking order to begin with. After all, Neser has been playing on the Gabba wicket as opposed to some pretty lifeless Melbourne pitches.

To be fair, plenty of woman find it embarrassing as well. I guess if it offends a few they felt it was worth the change. Still corny though.

He’s home with the family in Barbados. Very English indeed

It’s just the American sound to it that I don’t like. It’s just corny. I dunno is the W at the end of AFL offensive? Isn’t that worse, or the WNBA. Outrageous.
