I’ve read your posts regularly and always sensible and thoughtful. And I concur with your assessment of LM. He is a spoilt brat(albeit a talented one). Sadly he has been protected by a gushing media. Perhaps he has gone to far this time . My non footballing missus suggests that as well as the suspension the club takes compensation for lack of service. She’s a former school principal, she might come in handy meting out discipline to naughty boys like LM!

Ive been a Bunny Man since 1970. I was totally disgusted with LM’s behaviour. He wants to emulate Greg Inglis( who was no saint), but sadly he’s not fit to lace up GI’s boots. I hope the stretch on the sidelines will make him reflect on his actions and maybe just maybe he might change! However, I’m a sceptic.Perhaps the Roosters knew something about his inner self that the Bunnies didn’t when they let him go. Either way, I ‘d rather the Bunnies lose as sportsmen than have someone in their side that has forgotten how to behave. After all NRL is still a sport and there are rules.

Sorry but do you believe in Santa or the tooth fairy too? As many have said , Carlton have always looked for a Messiah to lead them out of the wilderness(eg Dennis Pagan and Mick Malthouse). It remains to be seen if Ross Lyon is the Messiah or just another naughty boy! Seriously, Carlton’s ongoing issues will not be solved by putting another coach in charge.

I’ve been a Blue Bagger ever sine 1970 and every season I live in hope for a better year, only to be bitterly disappointed. What’s the solution to the ongoing malaise? Not sacking coach after coach and not looking for a new Messiah. I’m certainly no expert but if you look at any successful team( be it AFL,EPL or NRL) the key to ongoing success is a cohesive, united group(both on and off the field). There is little doubt that the Carlton board are a bunch of amateurs and have no idea of getting a winning culture going. I’m doubtful that his grand review will achieve anything. I was born in 1960, so I’m quickly running out of winters to seeing a winning Carlton!

Spot on! It seems that she’s not a team player, and cares more about Liz. That’s fine let her do it, and hopefully you gets all the help she needs. But lets hope she doesn’t become another Meghan Markle, and there is an endless saga about her ‘mental health’ issues. In the time of Covid everyone has ‘mental health issues’ . We need to support each other, but ‘mental health’ is NOT an excuse for antisocial behaviour.

Very funny article. Just what we need right now! Perhaps the Saints need to chase Jai Arrow. He seems interested in playing ‘hide and seek’. The only issue is that (unlike JDB) he was trying to hide on the bed rather than under it. Maybe someone needs to give him a refresher on the rules!

I live and work in Hurstville, which is around the corner from Kogarah. When I first came to the area, most people followed the Saints. Thirty years later,the area is far more multicultural. League is not the ‘go to’ sport it once was in the area.
Saints fans tend to be older, white and male. When there is no Covid restriction Jubilee oval only gets filled out when Sydney FC use it. The Leagues Club is a far cry from the glory years and is old and tired. Much like its team! What’s the answer! Doing a Penrith and invest in youth? Certainly this crisis is golden opportunity for the board to re engage
With its declining and ageing fan base. Things can only get better.
