The last thing I want is a Scottish Premier league where the two richest clubs battle for the title each year and the rest are battling for a distant third. The abolition of the salary cap will also mean the abolition of some clubs. If every club was owned by a Clive Palmer it would be OK but some are trying to archive a profit, although Con seems to make his profit by selling players.
Rather than a knee jerk reaction Jesse, maybe a variation on the 3+1 rule? in our case 5+1 so we can have 1 Asian player who does not count as a visa player but also is outside the Salary cap, that way we can buy a player as good or better than we lose. What do you think?

The A-League's bleeding of players must stop

Did it go something like this?

“Yesh, for me thish is a big matchh, but I don’t zhink zhere is mucchh rivalry between zhe teamms”.

With Pim Verbeek, always expect the expected

So whats wrong with 12 teams and the smaller or later A-League bids become the second division. I seen thread in forums where people think the old NSL teams or the current state league teams will play off for the right to earn promotion, I don’t think so, could you imagine after 6 years of a system like that we’d end up with 4 Victotrian and 3 Sydney teams filling out the top places in the A-League..uurggh.

So its simple, use the smaller cities as a second division, it keeps with the 1 team 1 city thing who ever gets promoted and there is a better chance the second division will attract some following.

Where should A-League expansion end?

I don’t think the “lifestyle” clubs would want to raise the salary cap, guys like Con are more interested in making money from selling players. I bet he’d be happy running his club using his youth league as a virtual second division or train on squad for the A-League and as the first team players gain noterity he sells them and promotes a young gun. If he makes $5m a year out of that it would subsidise a slightly lower gate.

The lure of the K-League

Still a week to go until the Transfer window closes, a week is a long time in football(who said that?), Joel in he’s last interview looked and sounded like someone who didn’t what to be there yet it was only months ago he was demanding a long term contract and wanted to finish he’s career at the Jets. I don’t believe losing has made an unhappy camp, more so I think the unhappy camp caused the team to lose.

FFA should impose sanctions on con for his behavior, and to avoid A-League embarrassment at the ACL the FFA need to act NOW. Someone needs to take control of the Jets and Con needs to go.

Jets misfiring on all engines

In response Kossie’s comments…GOLD…

Australia will miss The Big O

Truely he’s a tosser, I’ve had a gut full of him and he needs to be put in his place.

Let's get some more lunatics in the asylum
