Fremantle sacks Ross Lyon and CEO
If Geelong beats Brisbane, it takes the heat off WCE beating the Tigers. Assuming they beat Hawthorn at home they would still be 1st or 2nd. So WCE may well be the losing team you speak of.
The AFL's top four go to war in Round 22
I think the Eagles did something like that in the 1992 GF.
Five weeks 'til finals: Who are the flag favourites?
Just ask Melbourne about finals performance:
What happened? AFL Round 16, 2019
One is tempted to say, “Would you bet on that” or “You can only play with the cattle you have”. Eagles didn’t have Natanui, Gaff or Shepherd in the Grand Final. No Lycett now. But hopefully you are right and the Wood’s do get some good players back or they will be not be doing too much in September.
What happened? AFL Round 16, 2019
Only if you are talking VFL not AFL. But it would apply to the real Tigers too.
Are Richmond actually set to miss the finals?
True – but it is not uncommon !

Are Richmond actually set to miss the finals?
Should have come under previous comment “as for the “soft draw”, we have played Sydney “at home” at Marvel. the dogs at Marvel. Nth at Marvel. proper away games at West Syd, Adelaide, Perth and Adelaide again.”
Wasn’t sure whether Nth was short for North or Ninth again. I thought it may be too cryptic for a Pies fan but not for a Tigers fan. But I could be wrong.
Are Richmond actually set to miss the finals?
Is Richmond playin Nth at Marvel a home game or own game ie Nth vs Ninth again.
Are Richmond actually set to miss the finals?
“Fremantle just continues to create anxiety so no one can tip against them or bet on them”
Well said!
If you think the final eight is done and dusted, think again
It must be about time for the Victorian clubs to start bleating how favoured the non-Victorian clubs are and find some way to even things up. There remains only one Melbourne team in the top 8.
Four talking points from AFL Round 14
If Ashley Sampi had been paid for being held in 2005, there would be no Leo Barry moment. It’s footy Karma. Tell Leigh what is done is done.
Matthews criticises grand final umpires for 'choke'
That’s Karma for Ashley Sampi in 2005
Collingwood fans have started a petition to reverse the result of the GF
He may be West Australian but he goes overboard to pay frees for visitors just to show he is not biased.
Melbourne will beat West Coast, and this is why
Yes, it would seem that once the game was nicely in Melbourne’s pocket, Hawthorn were given a few to even thing’s up. (Just saying, not insinuating anything). But Gunston’s miss really made thing’s worse for the Hawks, you really wonder what would have happened if he had put that through.
Dee-molition job: Melbourne end Hawthorn's September in straight sets
And they will have already done the trip over for the Dockers next week. Unbelievable that Collingwood will have two trips to Perth in 3 weeks!
Swans blitz Giants in Sydney derby
From a WCE point of view 1992 and 1994 were a lot better than 1993!
Are we really back to this 17-game season again?
True. But conspiracy theory overlooks such things.
Nine questions to come from Round 21
What about 2 divisions of 10. Current teams plus say ACT and a Tasmanian team. 9 Home and away games in each division. Final 4 in the top divisions so as to have finals. Bottom 2 teams of top division relegated and top 2 of bottom division promoted. That would give lots of added interest at the end of the year, Crowds at lower division games may be smaller but not much smaller than GWS v GCS or any team vs North in Tasmania.
Are we really back to this 17-game season again?
You never know – Richmond are travelling to SA, no Soldo , no Lynch, Adelaide resurgent. My blue and yellow eyes see WCE 4th 😛
