I thought Kolbe was unlucky. It could easily have been viewed as ball to hand rather than hand to ball, as was just trying to make the pass difficult. Still, after the ridiculous furore over the Eben knock backwards, any hint of deliberate knock on by the Bokke would be punished with a card.

Which assumes Bongi said what Curry accused him of. You can’t suspend someone based on the say so of one other player in the absence of proof. As there is none, we should be taking the view that Curry was wrong/mistaken to make the claim.

That was a cop out because it leaves the sense that Bongi did say something untoward but they can’t prove it. If there’s evidence, other than Curry’s say so, then why has nobody else found it?

Although it’s England who’ve managed to put the boot into the ref who is now being blamed for a painfully slow game. From my perspective it was the wit kant that did everything they could to slow down play. So what, a few water boys came on between play, it was England over committing into the ruck, wasting time building a caterpillar ruck before eventually kicking the ball back down the field after a couple of phases of play. If the ref did anything wrong it was not warning England about their slow play and then not doing something about it.

It could also be said that Bongi is the actual victim now Curry’s accusation has been shown to lack substance and evidence. But the only way England thought they could win against the Boks was through anything but their ability to play rugby.

Or it was another piece in England’s jigsaw puzzle to upset the boks play? Why else would he suggest that Bongi said the exact same words last year unless they thought it would have an impact? It’s not too difficult to imagine England reviewing last Autumn’s game and someone questioning what they heard, having a bit of a laugh and then realising they could use it to their advantage if something similar was said this game.

You’ve answered your own question in that the only person who stood to gain was Curry. With the so called ‘revelation’ that Curry has heard the phrase used previously but has only now been raised by the RFU, it would suggest they thought something could be made of it. Why else would the England players jump to defend him? Surely they wouldn’t need to defend someone who is seemingly innocent and just got back from suspension for…. foul play? One last thing, Curry has had 8 yellows and one red card in his career since 2017. Bongi has had just two yellows since 2013….

Did he report what he thought he heard? Or was he trying to Curry favour with the ref? (see what I did there?). The only evidence of the whole affair is Curry starting an on pitch scrap and then making a complaint to the ref….?

I suggest for some it justifies their own racism to have a black man vilified as such. The same kind of person who says slavery was fine because Africans were doing it before the English arrived. Now he’s been cleared they have to go back to thinking about their own distasteful views.
As for the ‘abuse’ on Curry, there are a few wronguns on both sides. Do you think Bongi isn’t getting the same despite being innocent? That said, looking on X most of it is saying he should apologise, calling him a ‘doos’ (a bit like calling someone a knob) or having a bit of wordplay fun of ‘kant’. Maybe your advice would be useful, although if he follows it Curry may find himself coming worse off and with a lengthy suspension.

The reputation of England has been damaged way more from their ‘performance’ last weekend.
If you want classless, how about the whole England side over winning a penalty from a line out not going straight? England holding down players in the ruck, not just chucking a boot away from the area of play? Or Farrell cynically putting his knee up to block a pass in an offside position inside his own 5m line? Which side started all the on field handbags?
In comparison, your ‘complaints’ seem rather petty. Those damned colonials not bowing down to their imperial masters. eh?
