What’s wrong with here and now? Pies just won and have the cup lol

Footy Fix: Bad blunders, unsung heroes and THAT Nick Daicos moment - the 232-second story of another Pies-Blues classic

Of course it does! They pressed up high to put pressure on the ball carrier to limit inside 50s. If Carlton managed to get a deep entry they normally had a spare out the back. Carlton were out coached as well as out played.

Footy Fix: Bad blunders, unsung heroes and THAT Nick Daicos moment - the 232-second story of another Pies-Blues classic

Well if they were “rolling more numbers through the midfield” then wouldn’t it be easy to have numbers out the back. Hardly outsmarting defenders. Did you really laugh at de goey and Mitchell after your list of spuds lmfao

Footy Fix: Bad blunders, unsung heroes and THAT Nick Daicos moment - the 232-second story of another Pies-Blues classic

Their is no doubt the rest of the competition have figured Collingwood out. A lot of their game plan revolves around effort, doing all the little things right. It’s hard to keep that up week in, week out. Even more so when you have reached the pinnacle. It’s only natural for there to be drop off. I don’t think their will be huge changes, yet, but subtle deviations in game plan and team selection to restore some cohesion. Go pies

Footy Fix: Don't panic just yet, Pies fans... but there's now a blueprint to bring the premiers down

Absolute numbskulls. Has it ever occurred to you that the “easiest position” is just the player making it look easy? Otherwise why doesn’t every team have someone play that easy role to that standard? Colour me stupid but I thought McCrae played daicos in that role because he believed it to be the best chance for team success. I’m no rocket scientist but he might have been on to something. No half back for Nicky D this year, much more attacking role. Onwards and upwards pies, catch us if you can. See what you ef el o gee esses have to say then. Did you spell that out?

The Roar's AFL top 50 players, 10-1: Why the reigning Brownlow Medallist couldn't even crack the top five

True, but dusty was in the prime of his life and had about 8 years in the system by that stage. My point is with daicos being so young it could have an impact mentally. One percent difference in today’s game is the difference between winning and losing.

Will Daicos win the Brownlow... and should he have copped a ban? Five burning questions for AFL grand final week

It may be a blessing in disguise if daicos misses out on taking Charlie home so early in his career. The disappointment may steel him to go two better, and take home norm and a premiership medallion in stead. His head could be up in the clouds if he wins the Brownlow, and he will have plenty more opportunities to claim one in future.

And 2011, when they were the dominant team all season.

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

11 prelims for Collingwood since 2002 for one premiership and 4!! grand final losses. Need to convert this opportunity

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

You would think he’d be closely tagged, but their is a fine line sometimes between stopping the opposition and also taking away from your own game. Maybe they are better off sticking to what’s got them into a prelim and backing their own game. They will be very hard to beat.

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

Yea I don’t think he will be “playing hurt” after 6 weeks. They will put him at half back but he should expect a close tag and a few Giants players testing his fitness, as they should. He will be ready to go.

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

Momentum is a massive factor in today’s game, with the margins between the teams being so even. Both games will go down to the wire, but 20 years ago it was pies v lions grand final and I think it will be that match up again this year.

Could Daicos' return backfire on the Pies? Five burning questions ahead of AFL preliminary finals

It is so hard for you to admit you were wrong that you would prefer to twist words to fit your own agenda. Where did I say every Collingwood game is a final? How can you, with a straight face, glisten at your teams success and call a team that wears different colours supporters “cheerleaders” spruiking what you perceive as success, knowing full well under the same circumstances you have tried to use these not as a compliment, but as a slur. Just because it fits your agenda. You’re about as one eyed as it gets.

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

You said the blues got “a bit lucky” and “there is a skill in standing up when it counts”. I don’t disagree with the sentiment at all, but surely you could acknowledge this is a massive shift in your own mindset, if you’re being honest, with the criticism you direct at Collingwood games. And yes, that includes last week’s final.

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

Well that’s a big shift in mindset from basically everytime you comment on a Collingwood game. Isn’t it ironic

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

Was their any comment from Goodwin regarding Pickett’s undisciplined sniping? He certainly made it clear Maynard’s attempted smother didn’t sit well with him, and some past and present players similarly weighed in. Surely they have the same outrage towards Pickett, who has already been suspended this year for a weak act.

Finals Fix: How Melbourne killed their season with the butcher job to end all butcher jobs

It’s unfortunately the world we live in. How dare a man playing a contact sport being paid in a year what would take us regular Joe’s 10 years to earn be hit in the head. This is not a Barry hall incident but a football collision that is unfortunate but nonetheless inevitable in such a collision prone sport. To say differently means you barrack for a different jumper, or lack the principle to understand the concept of what this sport is about.

UPDATE: Maynard sent straight to Tribunal over Brayshaw collision as AFL steps in

Haha. Of course not Mr optimism. Why follow AFL? Go watch soccer. Maybe Essendon were stepping up in class and were outpaced by a quality well bred colt.

Footy Fix: Jack Ginnivan just sealed a finals spot - and he might be the Pies' September secret weapon

I’d back a horse that can run the distance. How many Melbourne cups did Winx win? Silly analogy but you brought it up.

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

Glad you’re finally enjoying the footy mate. Just try to keep a little bit of perspective is my tip. And maybe do as I have, and spare a thought for patty Cripps. The poor bugger has had to cancel his yearly trip with the family to Bali in September.

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

How do we measure the ranking of the competition then? Is it rankings by the last 5 games or over a season? What a joke of a comment. And to use your method back to you when did anyone say this Collingwood team was the greatest ever created? Quote your source. I’m simply going by the ladder

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

The Carlton Collingwood rivalry exists these days only on behalf of Carlton supporters, I actually have sympathy for Carlton which is objectively worse than hatred.

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

You just harp on with your Collingwood hate that gives me sh. Ts to be honest. I struggle to see how your so optimistic by your own team despite their lack of any real success and push your perception of their qualities and yet find your flaws in the team who is currently the number one ranked team in the competition using the only measuring stick we have, the ladder? Baffled really

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

Listen to these Carlton supporters talk about there knowledge of what it takes to win a final. You must be what, well into your 50’s? Lmao. How about Carlton squeaking past a bottom 8 side and conceding +80 points coming from behind? Not a great sign heading into pointy end of season. Toolbag

Footy Fix: How the Lions dismantled sluggish Pies... and proved this is the best chance they'll ever get for a flag

What a farce this has become. Butler orchestrated the perfect tackle in what, supposedly, is meant to be a contact sport. I understand the concussion issues but at this point they may as well be wearing netball bibs.
