If you saw footage on the footy show last night of Lipinski’s play, it was awful, poor.. the voices are getting louder about dropping him,but is it too late. I have canned Lipinski for weeks. I got it right…it just so exasperating to see selection of this dud against a very strong team. We can’t afford to carry Lipinski.
What’s your analysis?

Frampton, Ginnivan... or a smoky? Every Dan McStay replacement for Collingwood's grand final team, ranked

Ginnivan is ill disciplined, he needs the riot act read to him for giving away frees, and must get the message. Lipinski… such grave, grave error to leave this dud in.
McCreery, Checkers, Elliot need to put a press on the silky Brisbane defenders Coleman and McKenna. The press will be critical in the GF, decisive and vice like.

Cox likes the spotlight, we must put him in that spotlight, his spotlight. That’s full forward, and that’s where he believes he is unbeatable, and he is. His leads are so unfussed, deliberate, focussed and even perfect, and his marking is mesmerisingly executed with ease, he just floats on top of the world, in complete command. When he lands, you get a great big dose that air of superiority from him, and that unique indomitable spirit, borrowed from the yanks that fits perfectly.
Cox will be our X factor hero on Saturday. He will be the inspiration.. at full forward mainly, but exquisitely executing some Polly Framer like wizardly at those centre bounces for the very big guns Pendlebury and Degoey to grab and do burn outs with from the centre .. the helter skelter Pies are the ones.

We know for sure that Lipinski must be dumped. By every measure, he’s a non performer.
Kreuger has been mismanaged as well as x. Factor Ash J, and hd would be my walk up start. If he played seniors all the way through, he would not be injured. It’s an indictment on McRae.
Ginnivan and Noble in and Billy F the sub . I don’t know how well prepared Kreuger is; if he was running and training well, I’d play him instead of Frampton.. they won’t.
In this match McCreery has to pull the finger out, and get more ball, ditto for Elliott and Checkers. If they don’t shut down many Brisbane defence exits, the Pies will get beaten.
At times we need Nick D and Josh forward to press Brisbane half backs, who are skilled runners.

It’s going to be 28 degrees, the lions will love that.
I’m not liking the new narrative of McRae, winning tight matches by saving them doesn’t wash.. we must play our helter skelter game, but more measured. In that 10 mins of the Pies closing down the GWS, ask anybody and they’ll say they were on the edge of their seats for all that time .. why? Because either team could have won, they’d say, and of course they are right. It’s a lottery, there are massive numbers of losers in a lottery.,
John Newcombe our former tennis great said, you don’t win the big championships by “ saving” to win, no, you win by chasing that forehand and hitting a clear winner down the line. Yes, there is risk, but mostly, glory.
McRae is effectively inculcating ( there isn’t much upstairs) in the minds of players that the strategy of closing down games pays off, when in fact it’s a game of luck. We were successful playing our helter skelter style before that, and we must do that again. The lions have many creative players to decimate an on the ropes Pies if we try and shut down a tight game again. It just is really, madness

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

I can’t see weaknesses in Lions perhaps except in Defence. So you’ll see them playing on at all costs. The overal issue of the Pies is their ageing players may fade in the last quarter. And related to that is that
In finals they we’re on the ropes. They aren’t storming home like they used to. They are trying to ‘ save’ the game rather than win it, McRae is prattling on about this and I think it’s creating a mindset in the minds of the players to do the same in the GF. Well, that’s not how we won our matches this year, nor is it the right psychology Say what you like, winning close matches is not good play, its luck must if the time.
Trying to win another game by trying to close it down for several minutes is just not at all what I’d be advising at all. Grand Finals are there to be won not ‘ saved’.
Brisbane have enough runners to destroy that rest assured.
We must strive to get back to our helter skelter game. Thats where we have been successful. McRae needs to change the narrative back to that . Its a significant issue
Players like Bobby, McCreery and Elliot want that, they are all at sea with a ‘ save the game’ mentality.. ditto for the Daicos players
It’s press the reset button and attack

Finals Fix: One quarter from hell couldn't keep the Lions out of the big dance - but another might just cost them the flag

Too too heavy to play Frampton IMO against a free running and yes, running team . I think they Weill risk Adams, if he passes a pressure test. His form though has been ‘ average’.. again he doesn’t hurt oppositions .. You just don’t see it . Darcy Cam may play deep forward more than previously and this will worry Brisbane.

Finals Fix: One quarter from hell couldn't keep the Lions out of the big dance - but another might just cost them the flag

Lipinski is a dud, we can’t afford to carry him .. he has to go

Finals Fix: One quarter from hell couldn't keep the Lions out of the big dance - but another might just cost them the flag

I watched the replay of Pies v GWS, and one thing is certain. We can’t continue to play, non performers, players that don’t hurt oppositions, players that simply aren’t good enough. Lipinski must go, for sure.
I was very disappointed with McCreery, there’s was just not enough output and didn’t see any real ferociousness. There was an aura about him, it’s gone a bit, but he must get more of the ball. He is below par and must improve; there is a laziness there, and there is no marking prowess, or plays that convince you that he’ll take any of the marks if one to one.
. Almost ditto for Elliot, but I never question his endeavour and his marking abilities… Elliot seems injured and his form has fallen away. He is a strong willed type and knows he must lift . BTW Quanor is serviceable, no more than that. If you line him up with the contribution of say, lions defender, Coleman, the class and abilities of Coleman are far superior. But team wise Quanor is resilient and calm.
A luxury we can’t afford to have is having Checkers, Elliot and Macreery, just plonked in the half forward area without being rotated on occasions. McRae has just left it all to chance. These three don’t have the tank do that and weren’t given any real time in the midfield, during the season ( poor) allowing the blue chip mids to rest high in the forward line. Unless Elliot lifts, he needs to, we are in trouble. Brisbane backs will run off these players. To me, Elliot is not the player I’d carry right now but it’s too late to fiddle without a replacement.
The ill disciplined Ginnivan will have to play forward. If what we hear is true, he has built up some aerobic capacity, so putting him mid in bursts will be needed. Pendles and co if rested on forward line may stop or upset the run of Brisbane out of Defence. The coach must read the riot act to Ginnivan.. “ no fifty metre penalties or giving away free kicks”, and yes it’s a serious issue.
The monumental error has been the mismanagement of Ash Johnston. If he was nurtured more and played every game, his X factor and use of his footy weapons alone, would see us overcome Brisbane . The evidence has been what we have all seen.. great abilities on display by Ash, but poor coaching. They really muffed this.He would not have broken his arm if he played all senior games .. just unforgivable not to have persisted with Ash.
I feel Moore is missing something, seems distracted, to me he used to take more one to one critical contested marks, but that has fallen away somewhat; its desperately needed as Howe is not a high possession type. Crisp and Nick and Josh, must rebound, and Jordy needs help as Mitchell and Pendles fall away somewhat due to age. So no wonder they are hoping and praying that Adams will recover to prop up the mids. History tells us that the risk is too high, but they may risk playing him if he passes a Friday lunch time test. 28 degrees day will help that, but not the team as we aren’t used to heat.
Finally, yes Kreuger, has the constitution … tall, strong fierce to put Brisbane players off. I’m unsure how well prepared he is. We can’t (probably) play Frampton.. I’d like to but we’d be very top heavy. We just must drop Lipinski. He is not up to it by a long shot

Finals Fix: One quarter from hell couldn't keep the Lions out of the big dance - but another might just cost them the flag

Yes … BUT his ill discipline costs us a lot. McRae will have to read the riot act to Ginnivan … ” NO F ING 50 METRE PENALTIES AND NO CRITICAL FREE KICKS AWARDED AGAINST “. That kids needs to get that.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

They did and even if you don’t like the Pies, you’d have to give to high praise to Jordy. There is a lot of that powerhouse, that Olympian body like we saw in the Abletts.
Jordy was off the ground for about 8 mins so imagine what he would have done in those tense moments.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

Jordy…He’s a gun player.. does anyone doubt him now? He’s a powerhouse with all the skills to obliterate oppositions. The haughty lions are in for a shock. Jordy will inspire his cavalry of soldiers with his front line assaults.
Go tha Pies

What a load of humbug..

DeGoey is a different man now. He is a beacon shining brightly, showing the way to the others.
There are aspects of Gazza there, herculean powers and an absolute desire to put his stamp on the game. Jordy, we love you.
Nathan Buckley was and still is his mentor. Degoey loved what he saw in Buckley, Nathan was and still is the constant ‘ companion’, and Degoey, despite his earlier transgressions has stayed the course, heeded Buckley. Jordy, you came of age on Friday night. I’m looking up to you and the players do too. They have their leader now to take them to the promised land.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

Cox’s ability to play Aussie rules is nothing short of remarkable. His ability to judge the flight of the ball and his run to mark it have been just extraordinary. The sunnies, his humour and playfulness are worthy of Adam Sandler comparisons.. and perhaps a movie…reminds me of the best fun movie I ever saw, the Sandlot Kids.
What stands out are his nonchalance, poise, dry humour and the unique American streak of defiance and dominance that no other player displays. He is good for the game.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

Player selection is crutical. I’m just picking one shocking error. That is McRae continuing to select Lipinski, a player at best who is marginal. He is unworthy and maybe he too was stupidly awarded a contract for 5 years, that’s unforgivably a poor decision. McStay’s contributions are marginal too, a point Matthew Lloyd has made. There are other errors inc mismanagement of Ash Johnston , who be the x factor player to get us over the line in the GF . The dropping of Will HE after returning from injury was shocking.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

McStay is s very marginal player, and one dimensional too. . On the footy show a few days before the game, Matthew Llloyd exposed his stats, concluding that McStay’s outputs were well below average, so it is not just me asserting this . He’s dead right and Ash J would be a walk up start if not injured. Im massively peed off by the shocking mismanagement of Ash J. Lipinski must be ditched for the GF , or it will cost us the GF, thats how useless he is. In the absence of injured Johnston, I favour Kreuger… tall, strong, agressive.. and a runner .. worth the risk, and Ginnivan to replace the total dud Lipinski… I pray to God.

Finals Fix: The Pies were down and out in the prelim. How they turned it around is the stuff of greatness

I am just livid mismanaged Ash Johnston .. in out in out .. just pathetic.
He’s not just x factor. We have all seen him execute his footy weapons . Just imagine the crowd’s reactions in seeing Ash’ x factor power abd wizardry.. immeasurable
.. It was absolutely and monumentally a flawed error not to play him every game in the seniors.. He ended up with a broken arm I believe, in the twos. That would not have happened if he was played every week in the seniors. Add to that, continuing to play to total dud Lipinski who has not done anything, has not hurt oppositions, yet us still played .
I understand he may have been given a 5 yr contract.. thats their pathetic way of trying to justify playing him. They want to justify playing him because of the contract. That’s a catastrophic mistake. We need every ounce of talent. Lipinski has little talent, and the coach should have the blowtorch put to him.

Maynard could not change direction. That was the unequivocal finding of the bio mechanist, so your assertion is just that. So, you are wrong

'Wanted to hit, wanted to hurt': Brayden Maynard - the guilty man found innocent

Let’s be frank .. he hosta a completely scripted million dollar show that if a monkey could talk, would be able to do that well.
He is tbe product of a old era.
If I was Channel 9 I’d move him on. I think they are beginning to exit him subtly.

AFL News: 'Pure fun' - McGuire responds to outrage over Maynard celebration, great slams 'codswallop' Tribunal takes

These were ill conceived comments aside from the “ off” manic emotions we saw at. At that Chinese restaurant. I’d be totally pissed if I was at Chois as a customer and had to cop that rabid behaviour. Eddie lacks a lot.
His overbearing behaviours, his interruptions of others on the footy show, particularly to Jimmy Bartels are a disgrace. There is a litany of others things where he has made a fool of himself.. I don’t take any notice of what he says any more.. Is there a problem, Eddie.

No, it was not Vin Waite who king hit Greening. It was Jim O ‘Dea. I was at Moorabbin for that match. None of us saw it .. it was 80 to 100 metres off the ball…. Oops I’m talking about a Collingwood Stkilda match. Greening was better than Nick D .. he stood on the shoulders of oppositions to take marks aside from being quick, elusive, skills both sides.. etc etc .. best talented Cfc player ever

Listen Ace .. you will see Will HE do some classy things with his unheralded ( to date) silky skills.. mark my words.

Finals Fix: Manic Magpies expose Dees' massive flaw - but here's why they should have to win it all without Maynard

We need something to wake up McStay .. he is marginal, very. If A Johnston was fit he would be a walk up start … x factor he lights up the crowd, it’s immeasurable, he adds massively to our confidence and performance. He has been so mismanaged by the coach, it reflects poorly on McRae, incensed.
I just hope that the total dud Lipinski is dumped out of the team for the rest of the finals.
Joe the blind miner knows that.
