Participants ie Jockeys don’t want TVN to end neither do serious punters. The reason this is collapsing is due to the unhealthy relationship between Tabcorp & Racing NSW & because too many egos are involved. Surely it can’t be that hard to run a channel that showcases your product. If people think SKY will come close to what we are getting now you are seriously mistaken, once TVN is gone they will do what they want. This is so short sighted of Racing NSW & Racing Victoria that it makes you wonder if the governements should not step in & sack the lot of them. Look at the disgraceful race programming in NSW, their showcase day, ie Saturdays, is full of shockingly small fields, but all V’landys can do is blow his own trumpet regarding the Championships for his rich friends. The ATC is a puppet for Racing NSW & can’t make any decisions on their own, they should just be swallowed up by Racing NSW. Their is no leadership in NSW & we are all going to be wose off once TVN folds.

How can Racing NSW & Vic turn their backs on TVN. The concept of TVN is great, obviously the way it has been run hasn’t been. Paying consultants to do nothing, paying Foxtel when Foxtel pays all other sports, these are just some of the problems. Bruce Mann in 2013 promised his would be on free to air, why isn’t it?
One of the board of directors is Peter V’Landys. How can he keep a job when he was part of the TVN problem & his solution is now to shut it down & go back to wall to wall racing. This is a farce. If I ran a business like this…. The ATC need to get together with their Victorian counterparts & put a stop to this, how hard would it be to make TVN profitable, the wrong people are clearly involved with the running of TVN so get rid of them. What are the respective governments doing about this-as usual nothing. SKY/Tabcorb will continue to dictate to us punters to our detriment. This to me is a sad day for racing & to see people just standing by & doing nothing about it is more sad. I would rather the NSW government put money into TVN if run properly then see the championships for 2weeks each year.
I wish someone with a bit of foresight would do something here because I do not want to go back to the wall to wall racing of SKY.

Sorry to keep this thread going but if the people running Racing NSW & VIC could not run TVN correctly, why are they still employed. TVN, The Racing Network is way ahead of anything SKY have or ever will do & now they both simply say we have differing views on racing broadcasting & gaming. What rubbish & if they can’t negotiate get someone that can. With TVN going there is no competition & no competition means SKY will pay what they want in future for broadcast rights. Last time Queensland rights were up for grabs TVN was interested so they got the right money, not next time.
This is really disappointing for the Racing industry as a whole, not just those two states. There is so much wrong with racing & the only change we get is the wrong change. Where is the accountability? We need one racing body run out of the ACT so the NSW/Vic egos don’t get too upset. Those states should compliment each other with programming etc but all they do is fight like 2 year olds & say my state is better etc. They need to understand most people appreciate both states & bet accordingly. Sack them start again but sadly for racing broadcasts we have to wait 10years for quality to return to our screens. This is really disappointing.
