Spot on Spiro, I love your brief homage to the late great Greg Growden, who I’m sure would have been another voice of reason during this time of madness.

Is there a way HM can be ousted? Surely if Rudd and Gillard were gutted by their own, it could happen within RA? I don’t believe an immediate change in coaching would be financially savvy but wisely said, “the fish rots from the head down”.

SPIRO ZAVOS: My message to Hamish McLennan and Eddie Jones: 'In the name of God, go'

What’s crazy is if the Wallabies place 2nd in the pool, I can see them beating ?ENG in a quarter final; then what? Vindication for EJ and no doubt the lunacy behind his decisions?
Results aside, if true – needs the sack. Play silly games, win silly prizes.

'Clown show', 'such a flog', 'poor form': How Aus rugby reacted to report that Eddie had Japan job interview before RWC

Ed, I have to agree with you. EJ and co have to ask themselves, “Do we believe in youth and talent?” And if the answer is yes, then to hell with it, select CG as 10 and go all-in. If the Wallabies aren’t good enough to beat Wales, then so be it. Would you rather lose by a close margin and lynch a promising 10, or lose (or maybe surprise some and win) by any margin and go down guns blazing?

Rugby Australia would have asked these questions of EJ and really its management that have let EJ take the reins for better or worse. He has excited some fans with the hope and promise of youth, so stick with it. Don’t change it because you got found out by a very good Fijian side, it feels embarrassing.

Eddie Jones chose Carter Gordon to drive the Wallabies at the World Cup - he needs to back him in

The worst thing you could do for Gordon’s confidence would be to hook him and bench him, I think he has the most potential out of all the Aus 10’s (his frame and clean kicking kind of remind me of a Larkham) but it’s the World Cup and youth has been prioritised over form and experience. EJ’s hand has seemingly been forced with this game with Wales coming up. I really feel for the kid, I feel for the fans, but I’m curious to see how the wounded Wallaby respond when backed into a corner.

Exclusive: Wallabies set for fly-half switch in do-or-die World Cup Test against Wales

Difficult to accept but hard to swing a successful WC campaign with a new coach 5 games leading up to it. There simply have been too many changes in captaincy, leadership, management, etc. It feels like RA have tried to tug on the hope strings of fans by applying multiple Band-Aid solutions to fixing a losing culture. Now the Wallabies could very well make the QFs and beyond, and the mood may change, but our performances over the past few years with an abysmal winning percentage is telling that we’re simply not good enough. I want to believe in EJ and the Wallabies, but often times if you play silly games, you win silly prizes.

The uncomfortable truth: Whether under Rennie or Jones, the Wallabies just aren't good enough
