For the game to survive in OZ and to retain and develop our talent, our contracting system needs an overhaul. With the assistance of RA Carter should be seeking a short term NH contract (similar to Noah’s Toulon ‘joker’ deal) to expose him to a different style of play and structure then bring him back before the Lions tour.

Wallabies' young gun mulling NRL switch as Rebels' future continues to cloud picture

“Coaches like DC who were champions at Shute Shield level are mediocre at best. He should be booted out and replaced by Andy Friend.”

Did you not just read the article?

DC hasn’t performed as well at Super level as he did at Shute that’s for sure but now you just want to boot him? How about we get him to spend some time with Schmidt where he can mentor him to become better instead. Players train their arse off in pre-season to become fitter and better prepared for the season ahead so why shouldn’t the coaches?

'Our system is failing': The 'crisis' sinking Australian rugby - and the 'crucified' coach that shows it

I still think any national comp has to have an already established loyal fan base for the tribalism that is needed to get the bums on seats and eyes on screens, for this matter I can’t go past a national comp based around the current nationwide club competitions. I’d love to see the data from Stan regarding the viewer numbers of Club Comp V SR.

Poaching NZ coaches won't solve the Wallabies' woes - the real solution is a lot less sexy

Or a Japan/Pacific Australia A Spring tour with the best of the best up and coming young talent.

Poaching NZ coaches won't solve the Wallabies' woes - the real solution is a lot less sexy

They may never come back. However if they’re available for Wallabies selection they’ll at least still be on the radar of RA and local SRP clubs, as it is now they go OS and they’re somewhat off the radar.

'Don't need to prove anything to anyone': Wallabies bruiser opens up on French move - and why he's found peace in role

I get what you’re saying Harry, however if we don’t have enough spots on the roster to support all the players coming through our system what’s the harm in them plying their trade overseas getting well paid for it gaining experience and coming back with northern IP? I would have thought the team at RA would have worked this out by now. Relax the must play in Australia to make the wallabies selection criteria let players go OS knowing that they still have just as good an opportunity to get selected in the Wallabies and free up spots on the local roster for those that are coming through the system so they don’t get poached by league. If RA were smart enough they would set up agreements with other world member unions for this to occur not just for players but for coaches as well.

'Don't need to prove anything to anyone': Wallabies bruiser opens up on French move - and why he's found peace in role

Some time up North out of the Aussie fish bowl might just be the thing that Lachie needs at this point of his career. I wish him well and hope he comes back a more well rounded player.

'Don't need to prove anything to anyone': Wallabies bruiser opens up on French move - and why he's found peace in role

Yep, lets get rid of the successful teams for less successful ones. Totally makes sense!

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

How about Simon Raiwalui? Wasn’t born here, but may as well have been, knows the Australian Rugby landscape better than most and has plenty of International Experience.

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future

Unfortunately due to the state of the game we now have to crawl before we can play the running game, and it will be like introducing a whole new sport to the masses but we should think small scale and local to start with a build momentum. Thinking about grass roots, how about RA empowering local clubs to make contact with their local PUBLIC SHCOOLS to run after school skills programs and 20 minute games using junior age group rules on school grounds for boys and girls, at least this way there is already a connection to community as the club is local to the school and some club members may already have a connection with the School. If we can get kids and schools engaging with the local clubs it should increase participation at club level and expose a whole new generation of kids and parents to our wonderful sport.

'Caesar is not going to be unkind to Caesar': Ex-ARU coaching director's report for RA - and what's needed to fix game

However he comes across as being more mature, grounded, competitive and sets high standards of himself.

Good, the bad, the Eddie: You've lost respect, rugby - and the Wallaby leader of the next generation

I think you may have forgotten that Phil Waugh only stepped into the role on 6/6/23 lets give the guy a chance.

SPIRO ZAVOS: Eddie Jones' coaching flaw is his belief that rugby is the same game as league

I’ve heard Angus Bell speak on a number of occasions now, and with his lead from the front play and attitude towards the team standards, he should be picked as Captain moving forward, especially as he’s most likely to be the first selected for some time to come if his body holds up.

Good, the bad, the Eddie: You've lost respect, rugby - and the Wallaby leader of the next generation

I’d prefer to see them spend that money on the Wallaroos! Currently ranked 5th in world rankings we’ve got a better chance of winning some silverware with the Wallaroos than we do with the Wallabies!

Besieged Wallabies throw lucrative deal at Crichton in bid to lure Roosters star back to rugby - with a Super twist

No 9-10 combination can play without quality ball. We need to win the breakdown to reduce the penalty count for one and to speed up the play of the ball to let CG or Donno do their thing. Bring Samu in with McReight off the bench with 30 to go and let him go hell for leather.

Wallabies young gun's RWC over ahead of do-or-die Test, intrigue over replacement as Ikitau returns for BaaBaas

“Superb performance. Ran the ball well and kicked even better. This was a step up from a player who was a self-described waterboy 12 months ago to emerging as the Wallabies’ vice-captain.” Seriously Christy you must’ve missed his pass from the base of the ruck in the 69th minute that bounced on the deck before almost hitting Tom Hooper in the ankles before being toed downfield from the French. IFL should be given an opportunity to start, his passes were clean, crisp and on the chest in when he came on.

Wallabies player ratings: Taniela explosive, Marky Mark dynamite - but lineout and midfield fail to ignite

I reckon you’re right, & can’t wait to see them in action.

Wallabies' PREDICTED World Cup squad: Jones faces defining choice as he locks in 33 for France

I agree Pistol and Phillip should be in, and although I rate Gleeson as a future #8 he simply hasn’t had enough rugby to take to France, Holloway just not providing enough especially when compared to the performance Hooper put in on Saturday, Suli should never wear a Gold Jersey ever again, Uelese just not reliable enough. Faessler should start. But I think Porecki while not the largest and most imposing hooker that ever took the field, doesn’t do much wrong and gives it his all every time he takes the field and plays the percentages so would be on my bench. I think you’ll find Pietsch and Donaldson will be on the plane for cover. BPA & Sio are great players but what we need now for France is settled combination be it during a game or training. Don’t forget there’s a lot going on at training with the squad that we just don’t see and building combinations at training with the players currently in the squad is the only way to transfer it to the test arena. if BPA & Sio are to take part I hope they’re on their way to Darwin as we speak.

Wallabies' PREDICTED World Cup squad: Jones faces defining choice as he locks in 33 for France

Christy naming Vunivalu, just to keep the comment count up.

Wallabies' PREDICTED World Cup squad: Jones faces defining choice as he locks in 33 for France

How about Bell?

Where there’s life there’s hope - and there's plenty of life left in this Wallabies side

Because as a hooker Porecki plays the percentages. The AB’s have one of the tallest teams going round, every lineout throw needs to be straight and hit the mark. I think Faessler is the hardest done by in the squad.

'Butch defence, Larkham glide': What Eddie sees in Test rookie as Wallabies make SEVEN changes

I know the Foketi normally plays 12 however thought his name may also be in the mix to replace Ikitau but thinking logically it has to go to Petaia. On a side note I’d like to see a Valentini, Leota, Holloway backrow rolled out on Saturday night. With Skelton and Arnold locking down the scrum and Leota and Holloway adding their significant weight on the side it would give us the advantage at scrum time as well as an additional bigger ball runner we’ve been lacking, with Gleeson, Phillip and McReight on the bench.

Exclusive: Carter's meteoric rise continues with young gun replacing Quade at No.10, Tate set to start

Pietsch is a Smokey for 7!

CONFIRMED: 34-man Wallabies squad for Bledisloe series against All Blacks as trio axed in shake-up

My thoughts exactly. Eddie doesn’t care so much about the results at the moment rather he is using TRC and Bledisloe as extended trials for the RWC.

Yeah but PS played for Randwick before the Brumbies which cancels out your argument.
