Easy to agree when it is so clearly true. Unfortunately many fans are past accepting anything from Darius as he is a massive part of the problem. Has not had his heart in it since start of ’19, it is so clear to see each week. What good is having him there for his “experience” when he is one of the worst performers time and time again. What are the solutions Darius? Defend better? How will we score tries when the team looks like it doesn’t train.

Darius Boyd admits Broncos deserved to be booed off

Well said Bobbo7.

David Warner deserves more respect

I feel like the selectors actually seem to look for any opportunity to drop Khawaja – not to pick him. Has been dropped after 2 or 3 average games about 6 times in his career, hard to think of any other batter who has been treated more harshly over last decade.

Five-way battle for two Test batting spots

Great win, the urn is safe but really need to kick on and win at the Oval. 3-1 a more fair reflection of the series. England obviously very lucky to win at Headingly, but 3-1 will feel about right overall.

Australia retain Ashes in a thriller

Paine was very good today (and due) but geez we are lucky we have Smith. As a huge punter fan – he has gone past him in my eyes. Root does not look like a captain or a leader to me and never has. His press conferences have always been a bit awkward (Smith was not much better as a public speaker). Paine had a shocker last test but has otherwise been pretty good and deserves to lead the team through to end of the summer at least (i.e Smith’s leadership ban expiry). Hopefully we can wrap the Ashes up despite our weird batting order. I would personally love to see Burns, Harris / Warner, Uzzie, Smith, Labu and Head.

Australia dominate as England fall apart at Old Trafford

McCullough has been woeful. The occasional decent run the last few weeks as a result of people calling for blood but his service is still so slow and telegraphs the play. If he was injured then O’Sullivan 7 and Turpin 9. He’ll be lucky to be in the team next year – best combo will be:
7. Deardan (O’sullivan)
9. Turpin
14. Segs
. Thanks Macca, been a great servant but has been awful since he played origin in ’18.

The players each finals bound side can’t win without

Marnus at 5 and Head at 6 would be fine.

Usman Khawaja axed for fourth Ashes Test

Labu had to stay in but how is Wade a better batsman than Uzzie? Absolute joke.

Ronan – do you get the feeling that Australia would love to have Starc coming out in the morning session and dismantling the lower order as opposed to Siddle’s line and length?

Smith cops sickening blow as Aussies scrap at Lord's

So many people demanding that Wade be selected. A decent season yes, but the Aussie selectors owe him nothing after giving him so many chances at the top level. We already have enough openers in short form cricket and Handscomb will still be left out of the final team you’d think – I’d have him keeping and batting in the middle order in that team any day over Wade.

The deserving Aussies who simply won't make the World Cup squad

Maxwell could really go to town in the UK if the top order continues these good starts!

Stoinis is concerning – hasn’t been bowling well or alot either. If we dropped Stoinis for a batsmen, are we backing Maxwell and Finch to bowl 10 overs? Otherwise not sure who the next bits and piece player is, maybe back to MMarsh? Stoinis might just survive a bit longer.

Given Handscombe isn’t even keeping in these last two games it is must now be absolutely certain that Carey will be keeping for WC. Handscombe will therefore be the first to make way for Smith / Warner. Maybe S Marsh will be the other?

Either way top 4 or 5 looking pretty good prior to the Maxwell injection.

Maxwell's hot form a World Cup boon for Australia

That’s the best XI – wonder what odds for the selectors to pick it though! If starc is on that team can win the WC!

Finch books World Cup spot with matchwinning ton

Ussie warming the bench in India

Cameron Bancroft's ton was a timely reminder

Fair – it’s still hard to have a lot of faith in the top 6 consistently posting huge totals- but hopefully we can make an English par of 300 most digs? England will be better than they currently showing at home but their team is the most bits and pieces team in world cricket! Has to be our best chance to win in the last 2 or 3 tours despite our own failings.

Khawaja ton an Ashes boost for Australia

Despite the quality of the oppo attack, that was just so important for his confidence given how lost he has looked all summer up (not just batting but dropping sitters and poor fielding too). There is no doubt he is in the best 6 bats in the country and so important he is at his best and in the test side. If he isn’t in the ODIs (where he should be opening if he is) then backing him for a big shield season now. Bring on the Ashes!
