Lots of good things happening in Colombia. My fiancee is Colombian so I’ve taken a keen interest in the sport there (as WC Rugger should be very familiar).

The most exciting thing about Colombian rugby to me is that it is run 100% by Colombians – it is not an upper class sport with a heavy presence of British expats as you’d typically expect. The national team is 100% Colombian and they are doing a great job bringing the sport to the poor comunas. The national team’s training field is actually a beautiful one located in one of the comunas (side note, Medellin has gone through an awesome transformation due in part to the creation of public works in poor neighborhoods, but that’s a separate conversation).
