Sorry Tim, this is premature. The fact they had a chance to respond is immaterial. They haven’t responded yet so it’s grossly unfair to sack them…for now.
Personally I want them gone too but its just not fair yet.
Lets not turn this in to a witch hunt because if that happens it won’t be long before the alleged victims start being attacked as well by those looking to defend the accused.
This is completely sickening in every aspect but lets make sure if it is true the accused don’t get dispensation because of a lack of proper process, lets make sure they get everything coming to them if they did it.

We really need to stop mentioning Hackdorn. I used to work with him for a while and he is a known liar. He laughs at the stuff he makes up if it gets any traction. He is the biggest West Coast stooge in existence and we really need to stop giving him and anyone who quotes him any oxygen at all in my opinion.

The first weekend of ’94 should sit back down and be quiet. It’s not even close…and I was at 2 of those games in ’94. You had 2 very close games and 2 decent games that weren’t as intense as most of the stuff this weekend. This past weekend kills that ’94 start.
I agree recency bias is annoying as hell (David King and Dwayne Russell drive me and with it) but its just as annoying when us older guys always say the old stuff was waaay better when it wasn’t. I normally push against the “best ever” crap but on this weekend and about this season, its not hyperbole, its well and truly defensible.

I agree it highly likely Freo won’t have a 1st rounder if they have Luke Jackson, but if they don’t get Jackson and do make a pick and Reuben Ginbey is still there, I’d bet dollars to donuts that he’d be the pick. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Eagles split #3 and grab Ginbey either.
His performances in the Champs and his overall style suit both clubs and I think they’ll both be looking to grab him. Dream result for both would be that your mock is right Daz and he drops far enough to get in to Rd 2.

It’s worse than dumb that we don’t play Sturt and let Banfield out there. We all know Banfield is, at the VERY best, good depth. We don’t know what Sturt is yet and that is now on the coach. There were multiple opportunities to play Sturt this year and we took none of them.
To make it worse JL said it was because Sturt lacked intensity. After a season of patting ourselves on the back for concentrating on what Will Brodie could do and not what he couldn’t, that was an appalling statement. Made even worse by the fact that we have a potential All Australian key back (Cox) who performs fine without showing any hint of intensity. Dave Mundy has played almost 400 games in an amazing career and “intensity” is something yet to be mentioned in his bio.

Stengle isn’t even 2nd best recruit of the year. It was close between Hewett and Brodie before Hewett’s late season niggles. Brodie in a canter after that. To say its not even close and that’s because its Stengle is bizarre.

In amongst the other points already mentioned, Longmuir at 4 and Lyon at 5 is completely indefensible when comparing Voss is at 10. You’re either a Blues fan or have never watched them as a club. Simpson that low also shows a lack of understanding of the WC.
Longmuir bought himself lots of time with their performance of last year and pointing to the loss of depth as you did shows a lack of knowledge of the list. Of their player losses their was maybe 2 of them would be automatic B22 this season (Acres & Lobb). That and the “Kings Ransom” rubbish so a lack of thought.
Lyon has 3yrs min to get it going at Saints so his pressure is nowhere near that high. He’s inherited an average list (acknowledged by them by changing list managers) plus he’s been asked back rather than applied for it which is another indication he’ll be OK for a while. Fairly obvious his pressure is low.
Carlton will start eating Voss up if they get off to a slow start and given their draw, if they miss the 8, no chance he’s safe. he may stay but he’ll get looked at hard.
Fagan needs to be higher too. 1 good final win won’t matter much if they get bounced early again and given their Ins, if they start slow he’ll surely get looked at before those you have just above him.
Top 3 were probably right as were the bottom 5 but outside that it’s clearly way off, even for an opinion piece it’s thin.
Its all subjective opinions as has been pointed out but the poor logic flow and lack of understanding on some pretty obvious points stands out in this. It’s all based on sound bite analysis rather than real thought.
