And they keep punching you in the nose !! 😛

Tevita Farnham ... Pangai comes out of short-lived retirement for another crack at NRL

Taaffe always gives 100% but I don’t think he has the ammo to be a top NRL fullback.
I’d probably have Tracey there before Taaffe. But who knows ?

Trial Takeaways: Pap's back with spectacular try as drug ban centre's return the Xerri on top of Dogs win

But what do the Dogs do about fullback ?? Whilst I reckon Crichton is a better centre than fullback, I’m just not sure you can run with Taaffe back there ? He will get buried under bombs and big hits. I think I would opt for Crichton at fullback and Xerri & Kiraz in the centers & Wilson & JAC on the wings ?

Yep ! Hughes looked good ! King tries hard but too small. Knight, I just can’t wear. Too many errors in his game. I thought Preston looked strong in his half. And maybe Salmon will develop into a handy 13 ? Or do use a Josh Curran there for more impact in the middle third ?

Not sure that Taumalolo has ever been the same since ?

You can tell the footy is back ! Baz is back too ! I know you have been burnt before, but I think you might be having a better season in 2024. If the Dogs pack can establish some control in the middle, I reckon the backs can pick up some wins. And most of all, you have some depth coming through for the future.

Yeah ! I guess so. But he did his job as they expected, unlike many of his performances at other times . Maybe he needs to play in a better structure to feel part of the deal ?

How good was it to see some real sport back on the TV last night ! Sure it was only a trial match, but at least it was footy. The limited things I took from the game , were that the Storm played a reserve grade team plus Paps, whilst the Dogs started with many likely NRL starters for half a game and generally dominated. From there on , the Dogs showed off their up and coming young talent and the Storm showed they had limited depth if injury hits their big names ?
Of the individuals it was great to see Paps full of confidence and contributing in his half of footy. Whilst it was a strong attacking game by Xerri in his comeback run. Although he still needs to get his defence sorted.

I thought he had 6 good weeks at the Panthers ! But that’s not much to hang a career on ?

He really just wants the fans votes ! Couldn’t care about their old clubs.

How could he ever turn his back on a couple of Blue Bag votes ! 😛

Just thinking how “curiosity killed the cat” BG !

Making the grade: Could a Super League-style system help the NRL to bring back the Bears?

Even Tim Lafai & Nene Macdonald can’t hang up the boots yet with that lovely Salford environment to take in !

Should be a good test for Sam’s coaching patience ! Starting off with a team that includes Matt Dufty & Paul Vaughan ! 😛

“I’m not the type to hold grudges.”
Really ?
Just another sad saga in the life of the NRL player. Playing in a pretty ordinary team for 11 seasons ( 192 games) Nofa scored 100 tries , which is no mean feat under these circumstances. He had a couple of really good seasons in 2020 & 2021. But it seems things went down hill from there. Maybe injuries, aged legs or mental tiredness contributed, but the loan to Melbourne in 2022 was refreshing for him in a much better team. Now his last chance is to the Super League and start at “mid to lower table ” Salford . Why do I think of “frying pan into the fire” to finish a career ?

It’s rather sad , Tony ! All seven look like Kogarah might have been the last straw available for their careers. I agree with all your assessments and ratings for them. The key buy will be young Flanagan who tries hard but has limited abilities. If he can organise things out on the park we might see the Dragons performances improve. Sele & Eisenuth will work hard as bench men. Queries on all the rest.

Can Shane Flanagan's new 'magnificent seven' bring hope to downtrodden Dragons fans?

Go the Chiefs ! 😊

Unlike Haas & Walsh to be involved in such hi-jinx ? 😛

Broncos brawlers get their first slice of Vegas luck after breach notices served but bans unlikely

Yep ! Mahomes was throwing to “butter fingers” receivers all year ! They registered more dropped ball than any team in the NFL. Yet, he still managed to drag them through as underdogs in the last three post season games !

'We're not done': Mahomes alone as NFL's top gun, promises 'dynasty' has seasons to run as Taylor Swift chugs celebration beers

Teddy has been one of the great fullbacks in NRL and Origin history ! But his form in 2023 was way down on previous seasons. Hence, in no small part reflecting on the Roosters 10th place finish and the Origin series basically being over after game 1 in Adelaide . Was it just a bad year ? Or has age started to tell on him ? How long must we keep saying to ourselves, don’t worry ” class is permanent” ? How long should we persist with him as the Origin fullback & skipper ? Just one more series ? Or should we pick an Origin team on form at the time , where the best fullback by May / June is selected ?

They will sure look pretty good with the ball in hand ! Not so sure, without it ? Cobbo had trouble defending on the wing, and things might get even trickier for him defending in the centres ?

Renouf reckons Cobbo can thrive in Broncos' centre switch 'so long as he owns the position'

Yep ! Tell him he is dreaming, son ! 😛

Cowboys star wants immediate exit as Sharks forward closes in on taking homecoming offer

I think Brooks will be good for Manly, but they will need to keep Turbo on the park to be a real chance. The Storm have spine & a coach. Not sure that is enough for a premiership these days ? Can’t agree with the dissing of the Knights . I think if Ponga stays focused , they are serious chance. They have Brayley back, Elliot fit again, a couple of good young pommies in Will Pryce & Kai Pearce-Paul, Tom Jenkins can cover for Dom Young, and Leo Thompson has gone to a new level last season. I like there finals chances. I can’t get too excited about the Eels, Sharks or Cowboys just yet. The Warriors should kick on after last year and a couple of handy additions, but I think you might have another tough season with your Raiders , although the 8 is still a possibility with that pack. This far out , I think the Panthers & Broncos again look the teams to beat.
