We have stood side by side with Buckley through some lean years and at times an unwatchable game plan. However, he seemed to have a genuine empathy and love for his players and they in turn loved and played for him. Has this relationship now been fractured? If so there may be no coming back for Buckley and games such as the blowout final against Geelong where the Pies were physically spent may become the norm and not the exception! As for Ned Guy who overpaid for Dayne Beams and then sold Aish last year and Treloar etc this year for peanuts, It is incomprehensible! How much would we have loved to have had the much maligned Adrian Dodoro in our corner, I bet he could have got a better return!

Nathan Buckley's position may no longer be tenable

Agree Pete, absolutely disgraceful the way the Pies are treating Adam. All the talk of harmony, support and mental wellbeing at the club has been flushed down the toilet. While other clubs are looking at the trade period to improve playing lists Collingwood are dismantling theirs. As Legends Members my family and I are appalled!

Collingwood and Treloar - sorry for the three flags you missed Ads but we seem to have overspent

Great breakdown of the draft Maddy. I also would have loved to see Collingwood pick up Jake Riccardi, a natural full forward instead of trying to manufacture one. Rumour was they were interested but were they outplayed by GWS again? The Pies had two picks left 51 and 55 and Riccardi was still available. They only intended to use one of those picks so they dealt with GWS to convert pick 51 into a future pick. Were they hoping for Riccardi to slip to 55? Did GWS outsmart Collingwood by pouncing at 51? Did the Pies really have an interest in Riccardi? We may never know the answers to those questions but it seems to have been an opportunity to draft a genuine full forward missed!

UPDATED: AFL semi-finals 2019 fixture: Who plays who, when and where

Jaidyn Stephenson will have to defy history to win the Rising Star. Collingwood have received 36 nominations over the years but have never won the award. Heath Shaw was a favourite back in 2006 but was beaten by Danyle Pearce. Scott Pendlebury was runner-up to Joel Selwood in 2007. Dayne Beams had a good year in 2009 but only polled 10 votes to finish well behind Daniel Rich. Also, there have been some upsets along the way, Rhys Palmer in 2008 over Cyril Rioli and Trent Cotchin and Lewis Taylor in 2014 over Marcus Bontempelli. Finally 7 out of the last 10 awards have gone to Non-Victorian clubs. Stevo will need to have a big 4 weeks to finish off the season, here’s hoping he can do it.

Why Witherden will beat Stephenson to the Rising Star

Both Melbourne & Adelaide were 2nd on the ladder when beaten by the Pies.
