When that second goal went in, it meant free Bigs Macs for the whole crowd, so the result after that was academic ????

Are things finally looking up for football fans in Brisbane?

I’d love to see the roar playing out of a slightly redevelop Stadium at QSAC. They played an ACL qualifier I think a few years ago (that game where all the numbers started peeling off). It’s a criminally underused venue – mostly school athletics carnivals. It would just take them to ditch the athletics track and realign some of the other existing stands into a rectangular venue. They already have the netball and basketball playing out of the stadium next door. It just needs some improvements in the public transport.

Should have kept the hill and the big old fig trees at the Gabba. Adelaide Oval got it right with its redevelopment to add some big news stands but maintain the character of the ground as well.

As of 2023, Sydney may have surpassed Melbourne in terms of its sporting stadiums

We can only dream

I am one of those southside Roar supporters that was outraged about the move to Redcliffe even though it was pretty much the only viable option outside of Suncorp. Now that I’ve actually been to a few games (signed up as a member for the first time in years) I’ve actually enjoyed the match day to experience. Much better atmosphere than Suncorp with the smaller crowd. I think something like they have done this year with games split between Suncorp and Kayo would work – even be better if they could cover the $10 for tolls to get over the Gateway bridge.

A scaled down QSAC would be a great spot. Right next to the firebirds/bullets venue creating a bit of a sports hub.

Inner-city Brisbane needs a boutique stadium before Ipswich

I still think that would be a great spot for the Brisbane Roar if they get rid of the running track and reconfigure the temporary stands into a closer Rectangular shape. The second track beside it side would be fine for community athletics events.

This is fake news of sorts. It’s actually a team that didn’t pay the players and ultimately went broke. One of the club executives had to play to make up the numbers.

Prepare to laugh as Chinese businessman forces the team he owns to play his son

Despite the lack of a train station or pubs/cafes nearby, I think a reconfigured scaled down QSAC would be a great option for the Roar. Some of the existing stands could be moved. I might be a bit biased being nearby in Sunnybank a 5min walk away.

Brisbane Roar ditches its base and heads north

I agree with the consensus that Aleague on Optus would be the perfect scenario for football fans, however with all their football current match content they only have to broadcast existing feeds. Would they be willing to have to front up all the production costs of covering the match themselves?

Does a new broadcaster hold the key to the A-League's future?

Vardy is semi-retired from international football.

What happened to England's golden era?

I’d like to see the white elephant that is QSAC re-developed into a 20 to 25,000 seat stadium. You could easily keep the main grandstand and knock down the others which are basically like temporary scaffold stands anyway. Just a few smaller stands to configure it into a rectangle shape would be great and it would go nicely next to the new state netball center that’s just been built on the same site. It’s fairly close to the Roar’s Logan training base yet still in Brisbane, public transport could be an issue but they managed to get 60 odd thousand into the ground back in the day when the Broncos played there.

Why Kogarah is perfect for the A-League
