They do make sense, 6 & 7 were wickets when the Indian tail were swinging to the wind with slog shots. It wasn’t due to bowlers execution at all.
Not only is the sky not falling, this Australian Test team is really good!
I concur that sandpaper gate was an awful embarrassment. But this lack of a killer instinct is equally embarrassing in my eyes.
I don’t want the AUS team to be liked. I want them to win. Not win at all cost that encourages brain fades, cheating and arrogant sledging. But good, hard killer instinct cricket. Waugh had it. Ponting had it. Ian Chappell had it. Even Tubs had it to a certain extent. Paine doesn’t, his sledging at the SCG was born out a completely frazzled brain. He just crumbles under the pressure. I’m not so sure on Smith either. I’d give Cummins a go with Smith as vice.
Tim Paine's time as captain is done as Australia crumble to humiliation against India
Bingo! A out of form player won’t put pressure back on the bowler. And by that I mean positive shot selection as opposed to uncontrolled aggression. It allows the bowlers to settle into a grove and find the “Jaffa” delivery
