Ah Dem, the Roar’s resident Antonio Rucci wannabe
'Sold part of their future to tread water': Power failure leaves Port in the dark post-trade period
I think they may have mildly improved structurally, but ports biggest weakness is psychological
'Sold part of their future to tread water': Power failure leaves Port in the dark post-trade period
is it a chicken or egg thing though? Carlton are a more intensely physical side and dont ‘concede’ as many free kicks, the umpiring bias toward port and the crows almost has me quitting the game, the umpires deserve some actual criticism, they are supposed to be professionals
Finals Fix: They just pumped Port - and here's why the Giants might be Collingwood's worst nightmare too
no port were just bad, and have been bad since the geelong game
Finals Fix: They just pumped Port - and here's why the Giants might be Collingwood's worst nightmare too
most in form, they have snuck some wins against some much better teams limping into the finals, definitely not the best though
Footy Fix: Sure, they're fifth... but like it or not, the Blues are officially the best team in it
well yeah, even if collingwood somehow finish below port, they get a home grand final…. they cant be beaten because the competition is more of a business than a sport
Have Collingwood and Port peaked too early? The smokies that are timing their run to September
Ross Lyon is a very one dimensional coach: he likes defence too much, and people work him out
Footy Fix: The science and the stats behind the Saints' slump
they still arent good enough to beat Port or Collingwood, or the Dees at the G, or Brisbane in Brisbane
Footy Fix: Anyone who seriously thought the Cats were missing finals... here's your reality check
he has turned them around a bit, but they are 2-3 years of good picks and trading away from a flag tilt, and the problem with that is that their best players are very old: list wise (and this wont happen, because Richmond arent mercenaries like the Cats) they are better off trading out aging stars for picks or good players still in their prime.
Fourth time’s a charm? McQualter can buck the interim-coach curse and propel Richmond back to a flag tilt
if you think he is biased against collingwood, boy do I have news for you as a non victorian club fan: he is worse to us
Dear Brian Taylor: it's time to cut your anti-Collingwood bias out
the next game between the two is going to be very exciting
Footy Fix: 14 minutes, 29 seconds, six goals - how 2023's most brutal burst saw Port obliterate the Cats
Freo are a good, but erratic side, they are 2 years off of being polished enough like the Pies, or Melbourne at their best, and maybe a year of development behind Port, plus a few missing pieces all of those teams have, Freo however do look promising in future
Brisbane, St Kilda, Fremantle and Sydney off the bye: Are they contenders or pretenders?
its structure and game plan holding them back, not list talent
The Demons are on track for premiership glory - they just need everything to click
While I think Melbourne are better than they have played most of this year, I do think this is some fan cope, the dees need another pre-season to reset and get their forward structure right, or at least their entry forward, I cant see them getting their act together in time this year to contend
The Demons are on track for premiership glory - they just need everything to click
ok so I think this result says alot about the cats: they really havent won much against good teams, I think they are kind of finished as a flag threat, and have been all year, they will probably just be making up numbers with a 6-8th finish, I dont think they are even as good as St Kilda, or Port
Footy Fix: Are Richmond back... or is the Tiger time machine good for one trip only?
it will happen, probably in 2033, after the Suns and GWS have wasted a kings ransom
Welcome Tasmania, but the AFL should be a 16-team competition so three clubs must go
While I agree, it will never happen, its going to take another decade of both the suns and gws being a drain on the league and a mountain of consensus within the footy world to change that.
Welcome Tasmania, but the AFL should be a 16-team competition so three clubs must go
Like Port they almost are, but they are missing one or two key ingredients/players stepping up a level
Are the Saints the real deal?
agreed, but what is wrong with melbourne? their best is probably the best, but they cant hit it for more than a quarter and a half
AFL Power Rankings Round Seven: Coleman for Curnow, Hell to pay for in the North, debacle in the West
agreed to an extent, Lyon loves defence, no team he has ever coached has been able to play an attacking style of footy
AFL Power Rankings Round Seven: Coleman for Curnow, Hell to pay for in the North, debacle in the West
every year I think its the year the cats are going to bottom out, and it never is, somehow their list management manages to keep a competitive top 4 list with players close to the twilight of their careers; they might not have the raw talent of melbourne or collingwood and yet kind of dull consistency won them the flag last year and has them finishing in the top four nearly every year for the last 15 years
Six Points: Pies' crazy bravery trumps critically cautious Crows, and Simpson's pathetic Eagles can't go on like this
all good things come to an end though, and Richmond must start a rebuild soon, or become the Westcoast eagles: irrelevant for the next 5-7 years
Six Points: Pies' crazy bravery trumps critically cautious Crows, and Simpson's pathetic Eagles can't go on like this
i’d say collingwood are the only safe top 2 pick for the end of the year
Footy Fix: Horne-Francis was incredible... but it was Hinkley's finest coaching hour that unlocked the Saints at last
the dogs are a more talented list, but they have a poor team structure with alot of substandard key position players in offence and defence
Six Points: Why Dogs' disaster isn't all Bevo's fault, Eagles on their way, and 2024's biggest beat-up
