Any country not entirely at sea level has “Highlands”,Crusaders and Hurricanes are about as representative as wasps and lions I would say so whats your point exactly ?Although each series is a “crusade ” of sorts for a team from ‘Canterbury ” and the highlanders seem to have a base with an awful lot of Scottish sounding towns ,Dunedin and the like.

Make the NH pay a transfer fee,why should we subsidize their plundering of players ?Years of polishing and money poured into player development only to have the NH thieves swoop in on the finished article .
Maybe the NH should be forced to create their own players and coaches ,this would show where they are really at .

I was based at Randwick then .Took a couple of mates who came down from Townsville for the game ,I warned them about that Gallic penchent for pulling bunnies outta head gear I truly did.

Moaman did ya know “Moa ” isnt a Maori word ? Apparently the settlers from blighty upon sighting the huge bones kept asking for “moa”[more] of those gnarly bug bones so our ancestors assumed thats what they were called .Apparently it should be called “Tanes big bird ” ?

When I first came to Oz with my then [Aussie] GF I went to a Sydney shop and asked if they had Jandals ? When looked at quizzically I remembered said GF called them “scuffs ” .

I took child number 4 of 7 to use the Star Trek vernacular to see the last Bled here in Brissie .This is a boy who had never watched a minute of any sport ever but who wanted to check out what all the fuss was about with his old Dad .At the end he was jumping up and down with everyone else !,still hasnt watched any sport apart from that !
But he is coming with me on Saturday ,and to confuse the hell outta every one near me I will once again sing both anthems [served in both the Australian army and the NZ Terries] I reckon I am owed a big win seeing as how the last 3 games have been a loss ,draw and 1 point after the whistle win !
Suncorp is a great place for rugby and apart from one filthy loudmouth at the 2012 draw the crowd is fab,I have even had poms comment on how great the crowd gets along unlike at an English football match.

“It were all green fields back then ” .More likely paddocks resembling a WW1 battlefield or a dustbowl one quick shower of rain away from a mudbath.I reckon improvements in the actual playing surface have helped the game big time ,witness teams trying to get into an area of the paddock not churned to mush in order to have a decent shot at goal !
Plus changes to the laws to make lineouts less of a lottery and kicking for touch being the same even outside the 22,changes at the breakdown to enable more continuity and quicker recycling stuff like that .
