I’m wondering the exact saame thing, to be honest 😂

Farcical scenes as massive third umpire brain fade robs England of a wicket

I’m afraid your attitude towards others is reflective of the worldview that motivated an Australian man to gun down dozens of Kiwis in a mosque in cold blood.
Like you, his refrain was also to ask those unfortunate souls to “go back”.

😂

Again…..not sure what that has to do with aboriginal Australians. Also, are you comparing ‘straya with a developing country? Might do better to compare it with China then 😂

“Australia should definitely make more effort to play Bangladesh though and now Afghanistan”

Absolutely. It will be an enormous benefit for this game of cricket that we all love 🙂

I would also like to see many many more NZ vs Aus contests as well, going forward.

The all-time ROW XI to play against India in India

Maybe they could look at making the WTC finals a three Test affair going forward.

The all-time ROW XI to play against India in India

Not too many Aussie fans like you here, I’m afraid, Bernie. You appear to be part of a dying breed 🙁

Are you sure about that? Because a drawn series will actually be the best possible outcome for Australia 😂

Especially if we’re to hope for a mouth-watering Trans-Tasman contest in which New Zealand would have a decided edge as far as pitch and weather conditions go 🙂

The all-time ROW XI to play against India in India

All good, Bernie. I’m personally quite happy to see cricket return to Pakistan. The cricketing world definitely needs a strong and safe Pakistan 🙂

No…you actually google that one.

😂

If that makes you feel better 🙂

Ooh wouldn’t you like to know!

This has nothing to do with the people over there, mate. All I’m saying the umpiring in this series has been no worse than what we saw during the Border-Gavascar series.

Quit using Tu Quoque arguments. Look it up if you don’t know what it means 😂

On that note, did you know that aboriginal Australians weren’t even recognised as Australian citizens until 1967? Bet you weren’t taught that in school, huh? Not really related to Indian umpiring in any way, but good to keep in mind, nonetheless.

Not much more than Oxenford and Wilson were, obviously. I’ve presented the facts to everyone – and I now rest my case 🙂

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better, mate. Of course it takes an actual education to be able to appreciate the finer nuances of this sport – such as the Laws of Cricket, which I’ve been generous enough to share with you.

And it just took my five minutes to type too – far from “wasting an afternoon”, wouldn’t you say? Oh, and I did it while having a smoothie too 😂

Now go down a beer – might make you feel a bit better 🙂

That’s just one man’s opinion – and it’s far far from the truth. The rest of the world is pretty clear on who’s better behaved – the Black Caps or the Baggy Greens (I’ll give you a hint: it’s not even remotely close!)

Can you even imagine what would’ve heppened if it was Aaron Finch and his Aussies on the losing side at the end of that 2019 World Cup finals? We never would’ve heard the end of it! Contrast that, instead. with Kane Williamson’s mature, generous, and utterly sportsman-like behaviour, and the difference is plain for all to see.

I reckon the Baggy Greens would do well to start to imbue some sportsmanship from the Black Caps. I suspect most of the rest of the world will probably agree – not that anyone’s necessarily holding their breath waiting for it to happen…..

The third umpire is not obliged to consider it if the onfield umpire has already decided that the batsman was offering a shot.

Don’t ask me why, but that’s just how the DRS works at the moment. Feel free to email the ICC’s technical Cricket Committee (headed by Anil Kumble) if you disagree. I’ve even shared a link for your convenience.

And that certainly goes for Australia as well……

Farcical scenes as massive third umpire brain fade robs England of a wicket

If this game doesn’t last five days, it will entirtely be down to English incompetence on turning wickets.

1. India made 330 in their first innings – batting the entire day and into the morning session of day two.

2. An Indian batsman score 160+.

3. India are now batting on 54 for the loss of one as the game enters day three.

This is a five day wicket – assuming both sides have approximately equal competence against the sharply-spinning ball.

That is clearly not the case – not that you can blame the Indians for the lack of skill exhibited by the English. They need to learn to prepare sharply-spinning wickets in the UK – or simply be prepared to experience this sort of humiliation time and again whenever a tour to the Indian subcontinent comes along.

The Rohit Sharma decision was probably incorrect – I’ll give you that. Even so, there’s more of a case to be made for umpiring incompetence than actual bias.

On that note, Tim Paine’s deliberate chatter directed at Aschwinn – to the point where Aschwinn actually had to remonstrate with Nathan Lyon – asking Lyon to get his ‘keeper/ captain to shut up – was also against the rules of the game. Aussie umpires Oxenford and Wilson did nothing to intervene, thus indicating a degree of incompetence – if not outright bias.

“41.4 Deliberate attempt to distract striker

41.4.1 It is unfair for any fielder deliberately to attempt to distract the striker while he/she is preparing to receive or receiving a delivery” (MCC, 41.4).

It is also against the laws to bowl hostile short-pitched stuff to tail-enders – Oxenford and Wilson were guilty of allowing that to happen too (when Starc and Hazlewood were bowling to Najataran):

“41.6 Bowling of dangerous and unfair short pitched deliveries

41.6.1 The bowling of short pitched deliveries is dangerous if the bowler’s end umpire considers that, taking into consideration the skill of the striker, by their speed, length, height and direction they are likely to inflict physical injury on him/her. The fact that the striker is wearing protective equipment shall be disregarded” (MCC, 41.6).

And of course let’s talk about the ultimate example of gaming the system – when Greg Chappell instructed his brother Trevor to bowl an underarm shooter to Brian McKechnie to look to deny New Zealand a win (with the series tied at 1-1) during the third match of the ODI World Series Cup in 1981.

I doubt that….although I won’t go around making assertions like: “Aussie cricketer X is a disgrace to his country” either.

Virat Kohli waits for review to prove he's been clean bowled

Yeah, same here – I watched it live too. I don’t think it’s wise to base your opinions on selectively-edited clips posted on Roar to form an informed opinion about what actually happened during a game.

Bet most Aussie supporters didn’t even watch the incident live (why not, you ask? Because it didn’t involve their beloved Australia – that’s why). All they’re relying on is the clip posted here to look to crucify Kohli.

And that’s not fair. Which means that it actually goes against the message conveyed by Australia’s beautiful national anthem too 🙁

Virat Kohli waits for review to prove he's been clean bowled

Terrific….so when we’re not able to backup our arguments with logic, we resort to insults. Nice 🙂

Although not terribly unheard of behaviour from a ‘strayan supporter either 🙂

Virat Kohli waits for review to prove he's been clean bowled

Well, maybe you do then, but I sure haven’t gotten the impression that’s the case……certainly not from too many Roar comments at any rate.
