The first camp of the year includes a lot of things like logistics (measured for suits, working out room sharing details, etc), playing/ coaching style, and expectations of the squad for the year.
I can’t see any benefit in leaving people out of that and I do not understand the logic that reducing the pool of players given this information is beneficial.

SRP RD 7 talking points: Tate demotion the right call, Brumby who's 'braining it' and what now for Suli and JOC?

The ball should be considered in play once the halfback feeds the scrum. It is a contest for the ball at that time so not recording that is wrong.
It probably won’t add much extra time, but still should be included

How long is the ball actually in play? Let's review the Waratahs vs Brumbies

Evidence? Evidence? I will give you evidence.
The players I like are really good, and their weaknesses can be glossed over.
The players I dont like have massive weaknesses and shouldnt be used again.
What more evidence do you need? 😂

Wallabies Spring Tour Report Card: 9/10 discovery ends big money rival's RWC dream, back line 'rock' emerges

I hope he has gotten rid of his brain farts, and the 3 amigos was so long ago and he has (hopefully) grown up a lot since then like the other 2.
BUT!!! Dont put the Link fiasco on the 3 Amigos – that was Beale with support from the other Waratah players including Hooper

Bring back Beale: Tahs veteran the key to fixing Wallabies' astounding lack of attacking variety

The problem with your position is highlighted by Lawson Crighton.
When JOC was injured he had to slot into 10 for the Reds with almost 0 experience (at that level) there and was severly found out. He got better as time went on, and was solid in the game against Suntory, but would never have improved sitting on the pine.
If we have a player there as a backup, make sure they get some time at that level. That may be when the side is up or against a lower opposition. Start Donaldson against Italy with Foley or Noah on the bench

Studs and duds: 'Everyone's bagging Foley', Jockyll and Hyde Campbell, TT's best of 2022, sub's 'cringe' effort

Agree with Campbell, Donaldson and McDermott but slightly disagree on the other 2.
TT is an excellent player, but with 7As also in the mix I like TT coming on 5 minutes past half time.
Samu is an awesome bench loose forward as he can cover all 3 roles, but I dont see him as best at any (at test level). This is no disrespect – I rate him highly. At 7 in defense he runs more like a 6/8, where are Hoops or McRight are positioned differently so I can see Samu finishing a game at 7, but not starting there.

Hamish Stewart in the backline was highly under rated. I think it was a shame Thorn didnt use him at 10 rather then Crighton as Chrighton was definitely not ready.
Not giving grief on skills or ability, but when Crighton started he was out of his depth.

ANALYSIS: Where key selection battles were decided and what the outcomes say about Dave Rennie

“for the Reds Wilson is allowed to play his own game style”
This really anoys me – pick a form player and ask them to play differently. It was what made people disbelieve in Quade for the Wallabies because he was asked to play a style that didnt suit him. Same with both Valentini and Wilson when they played at 6 this year. Same with Tate and the box-kicks

ANALYSIS: Where key selection battles were decided and what the outcomes say about Dave Rennie

There is a really good article I read which points out the problem with Samu at 7. Its not actually Samu, he plays a great game in the manner of a 6/8 so off the ball in defense Hoops and McRight would be in very different defensive positions than Samu.
I like Samu as a player, and he could play 7 from the bench, but I wouldnt be picking him as a starting 7.
As to Valentini / Harry – Both play a similar game and both played poorly when asked to play a different role at 6. I think Harry played worse than Valentini, but again it showed the benefit of picking a specialist.
People say Harry doesnt make enough meters post-tackle, and Valentini is better, but Harry has better running lines and better offloads and when drawing 2 defenders that is a great skill to have. I do agrtee though that Valentini has impressed and has made it hard to drop him for Harry, even if the stats seems to favour Harry

Beale when he is on is an amazing player, but unfortunatly that is maybe 1 game in 4. 1 other he is OK and in the final 2 he is a liability. His skills are awesome, but I dont think he has learnt from his weaknesses

'As good as anyone in the world aerially': Rennie on wanting three No.15s, World Rugby's call he can't cop and Tahs' 'unstoppable' star

Basically the model should be the same as NZRU. Each team gets to pick their (say) 25 players as they currently do but outside of that the ARU gets to move people around – with a caveat that the player should also have a say in where they want to live and work

Nine transfers that would spice up Super Rugby in 2023

I cant agree with you at all. That mullet is his talisman and it means I cant agree with anything else in your comment even though it is true 😛

REACTION: JOC limps off, Tate immense as Reds need to dig deep to end losing slump against Moana Pasifika

For the catepillar setup for the box kick.
Once the Ref calls “Use it” you cant join the ruck to extend the last feet. Free Kick to the defending team
(There may be a reason to join a ruck to shore it up so it cant be that you cant join otherwise the defending team would just put on a big shove)

And for tho love of all Dieties, a deliberate knock down doesnt matter if the ball goes backwards or forwards – make both a penalty and possible yellow card

Ten fixes: Rugby laws need to radically change to revitalise the southern game

Isnt it obvious why he will have influence ” when the ball goes wide”
Because the backs will drop it and rely on the forwards to clean up their mess as usual. This is Rugby after all 😛

Morgan Turinui's preview: Reds have 'most influential player in the comp' but Brumbies best chance to beat Kiwis
