It’s pretty clear there are too many New Zealand teams in the competition and there is a gap in skill and quality….

The Wrap: Is 'enigma' fullback the Wright move for Wallabies, SR not burning but smouldering

Are readers entitled to anything other than to make our own opinion?

Thanks again Geoff. I agree the loss of Phillip and Hosea is a big blow. Josh canham coming along nicely as well but note it’s two steps back.

Wallabies Power Rankings: Foley fires, Carter slays as QC returns, 9s battle rages - how every RWC hopeful is tracking

Good summation Geoff as always. Trevor Hosea is getting better every week and is flying nicely under the radar. Its great for you to highlight the good work he is doing.

Next few weeks will be interesting for the last three positions in the 8 with Australian teams playing each other again.

Who makes it?

The Wrap: Scary Chiefs make it a neat nine, Brumbies miscalculate, breakthrough moment for Rebels

Thanks Geoff again. Loving the Rebels this season, even if they lose they look hard to beat. Big test this week against the chiefs.

Speaking of Stan commentary, would be good to remind them that there are people from Melbourne watching, particularly with 10mins to go and the constant barracking for NSW!

The Wrap: Rebels critics should know better, thrills and spills in Fiji, and string of close finishes leads to ladder logjam

Good question….is it allowing the game to showcase their talent, skill and the will to win without the referee making a call that hasn’t been applied the previous 78 minutes and 100 years of rugby to decide the match.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

Hmmm. Maybe, would like to review the how this has been applied over the last few years? And all the other laws, of course.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

Sorry I cant have that. You only say this because it is self serving. Let’s go back and look at all decisions and determine if the law was applied correctly. Spirit will and should always trump laws!!

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

The ref got it right and you will not watch rugby anymore? Just about sums it up.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

This makes no sense.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

Agreed. Shows poor humility and understanding for the game. Worried about himself.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

Good analogy, we will take the same 40 years to get over it that NZ did.

Give me a break!!

What benefits are Melbourne getting above other teams? Other cities? The last test match Melbourne had was on a Wednesday night!! No test matches this year! When was the last bledislo in Melbourne?

If you think that Melbourne is the reason for rugby going backwards in Australia then you need a reality check.

The Wrap: Everything that worked and didn’t work in Super Round

I find it funny that so called experts on “growing the game” seek to drop Melbourne off from the rugby world. Melbourne will have a bigger population than Sydney in 10 years so how would you seek to grow by cutting off the largest market!

There is a market and appetite for rugby in Melbourne – the stadium was full on a Wednesday night last year for the wallabies v France test match.

I agree with Geoff in that the marketing for the game was almost non existent, school holidays, expensive travel between aus and nz, and right in the middle of afl season. Winning also helps at both wallabies and super level.

Don’t give up on Melbourne!!

The Wrap: Everything that worked and didn’t work in Super Round

Thanks Brett, the Rebels have certainly been interesting to watch this year. Another comment i would add is they seem to have us trust in their defensive structures. This is evidenced by your statt in giving both the Reds and Waratahs more possession. It would be great to see if they keep that trust with the inclusion of some of the more dangerous players when they come back into the side in the coming weeks!

Dismantling of Waratahs shows another layer to the Rebels

How do we find out more about the injury list at the Rebels? What’s the injuries and the eta on the players returns?

Yes. WTF.

Wallabies squad for 2020 international season revealed

What is going on? Did anyone watch the game last night and see how powerful Isi at the collision and over the ball. Bewildering call to not have him in the side.

Great column again Geoff. So disappointing in the rebels this week and you summed up the analogy to Jenny Mikakos very humorously!

The rebels just dominated about almost every aspect of the game but not on the Scoresheet. It was also after they finally got a small article in the Saturday age after all my comments requesting some coverage, making it more disappointing.

The Wrap: Leadership vacuum sucks life out of the Rebels

Thanks Geoff, yes they have had some ugly wins alright….that now makes sense of the low level of press, but surely it wouldnt be too hard to print a match report? I watched a game from 8 years ago at AAMI park and was amazed at how much the atmosphere has changed in such a short time!

The Wrap: Topsy-turvy round throws up so many questions

Thanks Geoff, always a good read. When do you think the rebels will get credit from the NSW media mafia? They keep winning, building local talent but just can’t seem to get any respect.

I am also concerned about the low level of press they get in my home state of Victoria? Not even one printed article on them in the Sunday Age? Surely they deserve to get some recognition?

The Wrap: Topsy-turvy round throws up so many questions

Is the Melbourne Rebels media department on pause? The tram gets hardly any press in Victoria and they should. Beating, no smashing, the top team should be celebrated!!

Rebels shock Brumbies in the wet

Last time I saw the Wallabies represented Australia. So nsw and qld only represent about half of our country, how will the game grow? Look at the AFL, they invested in nsw and qld and after a slow start, they are reaping the rewards.

Australian rugby: A blueprint for the future

Interesting article, certainly worth the discussion. I just can’t get over the fact that you want to close off Australia’s second (and soon to be first) largest financial market from SR. Melbourne will overtake Sydney in a few years as the most populous city in Australia (well it was before CV19). That is a large market to ignore, purely from a revenue perspective alone. Sure, you say Melbourne will have an NRC team but no one will really care about that without the best players. I also think you would be mad to get rid of the brumbies as they have a real culture and history. Canberra is a growing market that will soon be larger than Adelaide.

I like the inclusion of the sunwolves to an Aus/NZ super rugby conference. This could be real valuable for TV rights. I am not sure the pacific islands will generate $$ to increase the balance sheet?

On a playing front I do believe that four teams will provide good grounding and competition for wallabies spots as well as a balance for player development. We have always had the player pool, just not the excitement.
