I disagree that Wright isn’t fast enough for that, while he’s not as fast as McReight (he’s maybe around Hooper this year). But ultimately, Wright would be a different type of 7, however he would open up a LOT of REALLY interesting back rows. Fancy Valintini & Wilson/Gleeson starting at 6 & 8 with Gleeson coming off the bench, Wright at 7 lets you do that… Want to start Skelton, Wright lets you do that; etc.

Pick me Eddie: McReight stakes Wallabies claim to lead Reds to crucial win over Force

Hasn’t proven anything this season. He’s not been awful, but he’s been miles off what we should expect from a starting 7.

He’s literally listed as being taller and heavier than Hooper…
From All.Rugby:
Fraser MCREIGHT 1.84 m 102 kg
Michael HOOPER 1.82 m 101 kg

Duno how Hooper is somehow big enough yet McReight who’s (slightly) bigger, and faster, and playing far better, is somehow ‘too small’, but if you want to say that cool your options at 7 are Michael Wells & Liam Wright.

I’m trying, but he writes so damn many of them! 😂

Eddie should have stopped Super Rugby's sheer lunacy, moment that sums up Carter Gordon's growth

Gordon is fine, even good at Super Rugby level, but the real difference is Test Level, he’s just way too slow and kills any attack once he’s playing Test Rugby. He’s too slow to the ball and too slow to clear the ball from the ruck at Test Level.

I’d agree with all those being ahead of Gordon. I’m not sure on Tuttle, if his goal kicking is anything like it was, no doubt.

Kinda ignores my point. A lot easier to manage, a Rolls-Royce Pack, vs a Daihatsu pack held together with duct tape and chewing gum. Granted, the Tahs are somewhere between the Reds and the Brumbies in terms of the quality of players missing.

Let’s be real, while the Brumbies have had a game here and there without a key player or two. The Reds have had 2 Wallabies level props out for the season, another prop here or there, 2 or 3 first choice locks, and a hooker. Honestly, it’s pretty impressive the Reds have been able to deal with those players missing. But that lack of quality forwards makes it really hard for your backs to really shine, especially those closer in to the ruck.

I think White & Lonergan look so much better because they’re playing behind a dominant pack. A lot easier as a halfback playing behind a Rolls-Royce pack than a pack held together with duct tape and bubble gum like the Reds (or even Waratahs, but Gordon is bad).

He also regularly passes out behind the wheel…

'More to give': Forgotten Wallaby still hoping for World Cup redemption

We ran a baby O’Connor out of the country for FAR less than what Latu did. Latu was so drunk he fell asleep while behind the wheel… then not so long later does virtually the same thing in France (I actually had to check it wasn’t a French republishing of the old Australian article!).
And now we’re welcoming him back…

Unless he proves he’s changing his behaviour by taking significant concrete steps, like going to rehab, then he should be nowhere near any representative team.

Good lord, that would be a WILD turn of evens, the Queensland Captain turn Springbok!

Wallabies squad confirmed: Eddie Jones shocks with big name omissions from first training camp

Mate, I’d rather Etan Dobbins over Jordan Uelese!

Wallabies squad confirmed: Eddie Jones shocks with big name omissions from first training camp

I am totally cool with JOC not being selected, but Donaldson shouldn’t be ANYWHERE NEAR a Wallabies squad.

The Real loser is Wright who’s been great in that Scott Fardy role, yet ignored. Also pretty sure he’s calling the Reds lineout from 6, and showing he’s a genuine 7 as well.

Does this make JOC the front-runner for Wallabies perennial 23?

'Significant': Hodge's injury adds to Rebels' pain as Gordon, Wilkin shine again

I think that sword cuts both ways, and really comes down to who else you have in your squad. Say you don’t have Hodge, 100% you need a utility guy who is super high rugby IQ good in attack and defense and can just slot in anywhere.
If you have guys to cover multiple positions, say you have QC & Edmund (I think it’s possible Tom gets within spitting distance of Noah this year if not surpasses him) then maybe you take Tommy.

IMO once you are getting 3 deep there are too many other factors at play, like whole squad makeup.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

I think the question must be asked — is Patt the best option to captain the side?
Smith has looked MUCH better.

Family first: Cummins rules himself out of fourth Test

See I go the other way on it, and say “it’s not a ‘game incident'” so I’d rather it not dealt with in the game, and instead given a suspension or similar as appropriate.

Analysis: The coach Eddie should bring on board for World Cup, why Tahs back-rower is turning heads

My understanding is photo was taken before the Reds game. But he’s making a fucking fantastic case for giving him the Wallabies 15 job. His kicking game has always been great but underused, now looks like he’s starting to use it as he should now.

Did you miss the Reds games?

Because Gamble is good, but McReight matches Gamble in defense but actually adds a LOT more in attack despite being relatively limited in attack. He just finds his way to the try line & his support play is as good as anyone in the game.

Frankly Hooker is probably the most wide open position in the country. At this point he’s just as likely to get picked as Asiata and Faessler…

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

Selection should be based on form AND age. If a 20 year old is playing as well as Nevil, I’m picking the 20 year old every day of the week, and twice in a rebuilding team like ours.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

It’s not purely about age. But it’s that age is a weight that should be hung on players. Say JOC & Lynagh are playing exactly as well as each other for the backup 10 spot. 100% you take Lynagh because he’s fucking 19!
The older you get the more value over replacement you need to provide. If you have two players within spitting distance of each other, one is 40 and the other is 20, I’m taking the 20 year old every time (sometimes things like keeping a squad together etc can make a difference but you get the point).

The idea that you ‘just pick the best players’ is fucking daft and how the Wallabies end up with Quade Cooper being our only genuine flyhalf option with the alternatives being James O’Connor and a bunch of 18-24 year olds.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

I don’t disagee, but if he’s good enough to be picked as a core part of the team for the last two years, now isn’t the time to change that.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

Honestly, knowing Eddie this could totally be a double bluff and he just wrote down who was going to be Rennie’s next squad or something.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

Hard disagree that Lynagh & Jorgensen shouldn’t be picked. Jordie Petaia’s best game was probably his start at 13 against England when he was 18/19!
If you are good enough you are old enough. But I think at this point them being good enough is unknown. But we’ve not sen any evidence they aren’t good enough.

Daugunu is a great kicker, he has been a goal kicker! But he is more likely to run it.

Reds predicted team: Thorn's side sweat on locks, JOC for Hurricanes opener as Petaia set for 15 role
