WATCH: Pat Cummins' recent comments on readiness for Test captaincy prove scarily well-timed
Just a day before Tim Paine’s bombshell resignation from the Australian Test captaincy over a sexting scandal, vice-captain Pat Cummins was asked by SEN’s Andrew Voss about his preparedness to take on the top job.
Cummins responded that he is ‘as ready as I ever would be’, pointing to the experience in the Australian dressing room as offering important support.
It might happen sooner than he’d thought, though, with the fast bowler among the frontrunners to captain the team for this summer’s Ashes series.
