The Perth Glory host the Melbourne Victory at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:00pm (AEST).
It is the second last clash of the regular season for both of these teams, with Perth fighting to secure their place in the finals ahead of their final game with Western United next Wednesday.
The Glory, who sit fifth on the ladder, have been in worrisome touch lately. They dropped two in a row against Adelaide and Wellington – the former with a horrendous defensive effort meaning they conceded five goals.
Fortunately for Tony Popovic, his team steadied the ship with a much needed 3-1 victory over the Wanderers – that win, for now, solidifying their spot in the top six.
One thing is for certain: Melbourne Victory are not playing in any A-League finals this season. They have been terrible, losing five in a row ahead of this evening’s clash.
The stats do not bode well for the visitors. The Victory are the worst offensive team in the competition; the Glory are third best. Melbourne have also conceded 12 more goals than their opponents. The Victory, though, have not lost to Perth this season.
Prediction
Perth, comfortably. Expect a 2–0 win to the West Australians.
