'Distressing for my family': Sam Harper opens up on 'frightening' head knock

Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell is out for at least one Big Bash League game with a forearm injury and Nathan Coulter-Nile’s is likely to join him.
The pair were hurt during the Stars’ 103-run loss to the Brisbane Heat in a horror start to their BBL season on Thursday night.
Maxwell was made to regret the decision to send the hosts in at the Gabba when opener Colin Munro batted through the innings to hit an unbeaten 99 as the Heat reached 3-214.
The Stars crumbled in response, making just 111 after being reduced to 5-54 in the eighth over.
It was the Heat’s biggest winning margin in the tournament’s 13-season history.
World Cup hero Maxwell was hurt during his 23-run knock and finished with ice on his forearm, with the injury now set to keep him out of Wednesday’s clash with the Perth Scorchers.
“Biggest forearms in the world and he’s pulled a muscle,” teammate Hilton Cartwright scoffed at Maxwell.
“He’s had a nice break, came back super positive and he’s still super positive (after the loss).
“On a night like tonight you’ve got to keep reminding yourself you’re not a bad team.”
Fast bowler Coulter-Nile required a runner when he came out to bat at No.11 against the Heat and will have scans on a suspected calf strain over the weekend.
“Unfortunately he’s got a history of calves,” Cartwright said of Coulter-Nile.
“Hoping it’s just the one game and he’ll be back after that.”
After facing the Scorchers at the MCG, the Stars don’t play again until the following Saturday when they host the Sydney Thunder on December 23.
