Gerard Sutton and Ben Cummins have been selected to referee the 2015 NRL Grand Final this Sunday between the Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys at ANZ Stadium.
They are two of the most experienced referees on the roster available to the NRL, with the retirement of Shayne Hayne last year.
Bernard Sutton and Luke Patten will be in the video referees box, while the touch judges will be Brett Suttor and Steve Carrall.
Matt Cecchin is on standby in case of a late withdrawal.
It will be Sutton’s second grand final in charge, while Cummins has previously officiated in two deciders.
Cummins and Sutton took charge, generally without incident, of the three State of Origin matches in 2015, and have been leaders in the refereeing squad throughout the year.
Referees boss and former grand final referee Tony Archer said Sutton and Cummins are the standout match officials available to the NRL, and have showed it throughout 2015.
“The best officials will referee the Grand Final,” Archer said.
“Both Gerard and Ben have been outstanding this season and particularly in the finals series.
“They also refereed the three State of Origins this year.
“They have an enormous amount of experience and work effectively together – this is the right combination for the decider,” Archer said.
