Three votes: Brendan Fevola, for his wonderful post-game gesture in going out of his way to seek out Chris Judd and give him a game ball after Carlton’s amazing come-from-behind effort to down the Western Bulldogs.

Fevola knew who was largely responsible for the win and more than one of his six goals. Judd obviously appreciated the thought, too – he was still holding the ball while belting out the club song in the room.

50-metre penalty: Channel Ten, yet again, for reversing the clock at the five-minute mark in the Richmond-Brisbane game, seen live in the northern states on Fox Channel 518 while the boring Swans-Adelaide effort was on free-to-air delay in Sydney. In such a close game viewers want to know if there are any timekeeping errors or other blunders, not that the last quarter took more than 33 minutes to play.

Winners: Hawks by 3, Bombers by 2, Crows by 11, Cats by 17, Lions by 1, Swans by 2, Saints by 18, Dockers by 39. I’ve stuck with my original thoughts when trying to tip six games ahead last week, but I think the Pies, Shinboners and Doggies are all big chances to turn those around. And beware the Carlton Juddernaut!

Total right so far 85/136; last weekend 4.

Back to the action: After last weekend’s results, there will obviously be some changes to how my six-weeks-ahead predictions for the final ladder pan out, as reflected below.

I’ve left my original tips for round 18 unchanged for this exercise, giving this revised end result:

Geelong (5 wins) 80 points
Western Bulldogs (4) 70
Hawthorn (4) 68
Sydney (4) 58
St Kilda (4) 52
Collingwood (4) 52
Richmond (5) 50
North Melbourne (3) 46
Brisbane (2) 44
Essendon (4) 40
Adelaide (2) 40
Carlton (2) 36
Port Adelaide (1) 24
Fremantle (2) 20
Melbourne (1) 12
West Coast (1) 12
