Vince Grella has played down reports he is about to sign with an English Premier League club.

The Australian midfielder says he is keen to leave his Italian Serie A club Torino and move to England, but talk of an imminent deal with either Blackburn Rovers or Fulham is premature.

“At the moment I’ve only read and heard of these things and up till now there’s been nothing official,” Grella told setantasports.com in England.

Grella, who played in this week’s friendly match in London between Australia and South Africa, also denied reports that he had met with Blackburn’s manager Paul Ince.

“I haven’t met him. Nothing’s been planned.” Grella said.

“Until I find out any other information I’m a Torino player.”

However Grella, who has spent the past decade in Italy, did admit a move to England “would interest me”.

“I think English football at the moment has taken over, it’s improved so much, it’s full of world champions and it’s something that, having been 10 years in Italy, interests me,” he said.
